Original XBOX Freeze / E21 after Softmod via HOTSWAP

Hi Everyone,
So as the Subject says I tried to softmod my Skeleton Black XBOX (NTSC/JAP) via the hotswap method but I ended up with freezing on XBOX logo at the startup and if there is a disc in the tray it will show E21 so I want your help to get it successful considering the following:
1. I used XBOXHDM 2.2 USB version since I have one Parallel port on my desktop.
2. Used Ndure 3.1 wizard for the softmod files.
3. Successfully unlocked the drive and hotswap it.
4. Managed to run Ndure and select option 1 (copy Ndure files) with no errors.
5. Backed up C partition so I managed restore back to its original conditions.
6. Unable to get the write game to softmod it (All copies I ordered found to be Japanese while Asian versions are required.

If all else fails, you can build an EEPROM reader, dump your HDD key and build a new disk from scratch.

 

Is that required for successfull softmod? For the system it's now working after I had restored the C from the backup

I thought you may have been having issues with the ATA lock on the HDD.. My bad

ok so you have a stock console again?

How where you going about unlocking the disk, on boot, using a music CD or using a Game (loading up any game and waiting for the disk to unlock)?

 

Yes now I have a stock console (NTSC JAP Skeleton Black XBOX).

I managed to unlock successfully using e12, music track and swap it my desktop but the issue was when I finished the Ndure softmod process and connected back the HDD to my xbox I ended with freezing on XBOX logo at the start-up and if there is a disc in the tray it will show E21. then I connected the HDD to my desktop and restored the C partition back.

so the issue is the softmod!!! and to be more specific I suspect the softmod files

 

did you lock the HDD after writing the softmod?

 

No I didn't lock it. is it a must? can i dot it without eeprom.bin?

 

Yes, a locked HDD is a must for softmods. You don't need the eeprom.bin file specifically, but you do need to know your HDD key (the relevant bit in that eeprom file) in some way, shape or form - if you don't, it's time to build an eeprom reader, or install a modchip.

 

ok so I did what you said:
- i made my eeprom reader, dumped the eeprom
- started XBOXHDM and unlocked the drive, start ndure script and selected 1st option.
- copied the ndure files and locked the drive and again error 21
