Original Xbox screws Severely rounded

That's terrible, but so was using scissors as a screwdriver. Get the right tools - there's no excuse. B&Q, Maplin, even Pound Land do Torx drivers.

Seriusly, as crystals which are not yellowed from smoking are harder and harder to find I can only say: WTF MAN?!? WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN TO THE GUYS IN THIS THREAD?!?

A Torx screwdriver is just a few dollars, get a decent set of tools dammit!

And if you don't have a fitting screwdriver, then take a thin plastic pen, heat the tip with a lighter, and jam it in the hole while it is still warm and partly-melted. Wait until it has cooled off, then turn it to unscrew the screws.
Works like a charm with Nintendo Gamebit screws.

Speedking123, it really would have been worth taking the time to wait for the proper tools. I wish that a somewhat rare Xbox hadn't been destroyed; but what's done is done. After you do your mods and upgrades to the console I think it would be worth it to get one of these: http://www.xcm.cc/xcm_xbox_replacement_case.htm

They've been out of production for a while but you can still find them online. This way instead of having a damaged retail unit you'll have a nice looking modded unit. I hope your project turns out nicely and that maybe this will serve as a learning experience.

Congratulations - you just wrecked that casing for the sake of maybe a dollar or two. Torx bits are cheap as dirt at any hardware store.

Good luck getting that HDD out and replacing it. You thought those outside screws were annoying...

Shame because you probably could have sold the Crystal case by itself for well more than you paid for the whole thing assuming it hadn't been damaged.
