i think the lack of a playstore is a good thing for devs. A fresh and device dedicated store helps drive focus towards their products, well it will for a while anyway until it floods with shit. Ive been approached a few times to do some dev for the device. Still sitting on the fence.
Hate to break it to you, but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff72c2x8oNU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SNpofilQJ0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KniKH9Yfl5Y
Not that I can do any form of programming, or make anything better but those were just horrible. The flying car game looks no better than an overclocked version of StarFox. Just stupid, not sure how the OUYA is going to do well. It's just a phone with a controller really... Maybe great to play around with, but to make money you'd need to be laughing.
Ouya running some real games. Sonic 4 - Episode 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKvKTVM9lUE Need For Speed Most Wanted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmH_DpYMmDo Dead Trigger http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tq83J1NIqQ8 Rayman Jungle Run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-cVSFyWVHc FPse - PlayStation Emulator. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59CjuKmGwyo now all of the above run 60fps on my phone but it doesn't have TV out. The Ouya is cheap and can run all the same stuff at the same frame rate. I'd but one just to play my phone games n the TV.
The question is why'd want to play any of those games on a TV when they're just imitations of better games you can play on real consoles... Besides, if all you want an Ouya for is to play Android games, there are already Android sticks that can do that for cheaper.
What I'm expecting is the XBMC and other apps. but is not available yet. Also some good arcade emulators the video output is pretty nice. For me the only available full game in the store is Final fantasy 3 and is just an HD port of the DS one no improvement where made. Square could ad some textures to make it more updated to the console.
This things reminds me of that 'the ND' thing the guy from bob's game came up with. I don't even think that got a release. http://bobsgame.com/ Lol.
It's all supposed to be open source right? Allwinner A31 based Android sticks are available now for as little as $50, are a little bit faster than Tegra 3, and come with 2GB of RAM. Install Ouya's shell when somebody inevitably releases an APK, add a PS3 controller, enjoy.
Exactly. When I have some play money I'm going to get an Android stick ASAP. It's going to be a blast I bet. And so cheap!
