Just picked up the qwirky Rising Zan for PS1. I was wondering though what other qwirky over looked PS1 games are floating around begging to be played by more than 5 people?
Jumping Flash! and Jumping Flash! 2 I love these games to death Also you might want to check out Heart of Darkness and Tail Concerto
YESSSSS~!!! Jumping Flash is one of my all time favorites as it is one of my first owned games (I actually owned it! Not my brother, Muahahha!)
I don`t know how overlooked it was but it still remains one of the most innovative and fun games for the playstation. I recently started playing it again and as you can create infinite levels with varying difficulty its not easy to tire of.
blood omen, broken helix, disruptor just off the top of my head, 3 games that are EXCELLENT but you never hear them mentioned anywhere a friend of mine also made a racing games called "Motorhead" which is pretty fun, i think it got a worldwide release?
Motorhead was amazing, the first PSX game to feature Hi-res 60fps graphics all throughout. Something GT could only do as a demo track.
Vandal Hearts (better than 2, but 2 is good also). Colony Wars. (Space shooter/flight sim) Bloody Roar 2 (Fighting) Rollcage. (Racing) Disrupter (FPS) Twisted Metal/Vigilante 8 (great multi-player) Fear Effect (interesting) Overboard! Strider 2 In The Hunt Tomba Doom (great conversion) G Police 1&2 Discworld 1&2 (hard to get these days) XCOM&Terror from the deep (both work very well on the PS, but take a whole memory card each) Bushido Blade 2 Fade To Black Kula World Oddworld There was also a really good Capcom game on one of the UK demo discs. A quasi-2D/3D platformer that was a bit like Fantastic Four, but you were a captain or something. I've been trying to find out the name for years but I'm too lazy to track down my stack of Official UK PlayStation Magazines
yes!! I fucking knew you where going to mention Rising Zan - great minds and all that. what an awesome game - I remember playing it around 6 or 7 years ago. one of my fave games of the 32bit era no doubt about it.
Aside from what's already been mentioned I got a bit of enjoyment out of T.R.A.G., I don't think it was popular (never see it for sale hardly). Also Courier Crisis is a bit of mind numbing fun for a few tries. I wouldn't spend more than a few bucks on either of these as they aren't *great* games, but if you're looking for something you've never played that's decent - give 'em a shot.
I really enjoyed playing some of those games (Disruptor, G-Police, Colony Wars, both Oddworld games, Kula World, Overboard and Rollcage) and I should add Porsche Challenge, Disney's Hercules (I've always been a Disney games fan since Aladdin on MD), Tenka (FPS) or Rapid Racer
