Hey the default setting for Harmful Park may be easy - but that was never how it was supposed to be played, normal difficulty may be easy by comparison to hardcore shooters, but a 1cc run is still a solid challenge. And it is one of the few games were hard mode is not just silly. You literally "have" to play Harmful park on normal difficulty or above, only using the laser/ice or pie attack. Play for a score and the game opens up - like so many shooters.
I liked the Unholy War.. Trap Gunner/Runner Destrega Evil Zone Land Maker StarSweep Tombi/Tomba! 1 & 2 Team Buddies Terracon Silent Bomber Firo and Klaud
Ehrgeiz, Masters Of Teras Kasi, Bushido Blade and Tobal 1 are just some of the more overlooked PS fighters, while Libero Grande doesn't really stand out from other football titles apart from in terms of its "unique" (?) first person mode.
- Rollcage/Rollcage Stage 2: excellent racing games - Trap Gunner: stupidly fun party game if you knew how to play it - Hogs of War: 3d Scorched Earth that was better than Worms 3d - Incredible Crisis: crazy minigames and awesome music by Tokyo Ska Paradise. Also features a sex minigame localized for the US to a very sensual backrub - Pong: The Next Level: yes its an awesome pong remake with crazy levels - The Next Tetris: awesome tetris remake with block gravity and piss your friend off 2 player mode. Also had an insane puzzle mode. - No One Can Stop Mr. Domino: best domino game ever - Demolition Racer: kicked the shit out of Destruction Derby. Had something crazy like 16 cars on the track at once (though they were all the same model)
Brave Fencer Musashi. It was amazing how many people bought that just for the included FF8 demo disc but never bothered to play the game itself.
- Circuit Breakers (IMO, the best multitap game on PS1. PAL only I think, can anyone confirm NTSC-J on this one?) - Burning Road (Daytona clone with link cable support, usually cheap but took me a while to track down two copies of the NTSC-J version) - Porsche Challenge - Irem Arcade Classics (worth it for Spartan X) - Rock'n Roll Racing 2 (only found out today that this existed in the USA, NTSC-J too?) - Tempest X - Blood Factory - Speed King (an arcade conversion actually, hovercraft done wrong, mildly interesting since it ties in with the Snatcher timeline and locales)
Confirming NTSC. It was basically an awesome clone of the 16-bit Micro Machines game that improved on just about every aspect of it.
