Well I must say that was a pretty good find!

I tried doing an order but I really want to pay with PayPal but it doesn't give me the option! I kinda don't want to risk it with a site I am not familiar with and it's not natively english. I also find the shipping to be uite pricey for such a small object considering I already find that 39 Euros for one Qoob SX is kinda pricey for a modchip :(

Also over here, they briefly talked about throwing the Qoob code into the XenoGC. They talked about it a bit and there was no posts after that, not knowing if there was success or not. I wasn't quite understanding it but probably someone could elaborate what they're talking about?:

Still haven't received the chip yet. I'm in the USA And the only option was international express shipping from Italy. Not sure who the actual courier is, probably regular mail so takes a little while to get here. I'll surely post results here for everyone whether it works well or not.

Great new, got the chip today so source is a reliable seller.
Bad news I leave on a work trip for a couple weeks and won't get around to modding the q with it for a while though. Maybe if you order one now we will be modding around the same time.

Well that is good news indeed!

I will probably end up ordering one, I just checked the website and there seems to be more in stock. However I am still quite persistent in trying to get the XenoGC working like how those guys were doing at gc-forever.com. This is also quite funny as well, it seems to be out of stock at the website you linked as well, usually it would've been the other way round (hope that doesnt jinx it!) :D

Strange, site it still showing full availability for me and letting me add to cart.
Good luck on the Xeno. I'm sure it can work, just have to find the right solder points and a way to rig up the lid sensor wire since the q doesn't have a lid.

I can confirm that the site mooshue linked to is ok. I ordered a Qoob pro and got it the other day. Total with shipping and the 4.5% pp fee they added was 54.22EUR to the USA. Even though it says 15EUR shipping, it did not actually charge that much at checkout.

Sounds like part of the problem here is inexperienced modders trying to install modchips in very expensive gamecubes. Wouldn't be shocked if the solder joints were bad as I know the XenoGC can be installed and working.

Because I've seen it done before?

    EDIT:
To elaborate, it's a GameCube with a DVD player. Ultimately the GameCube side of things can still be patched the same way a regular GameCube can. Now I don't know anything about making the DVD player region free.

The Qoob Pro is a replacement IPL IIRC with most of the soldering going down on the connector for the DVD-ROM side of things. If that works then any IPL replacement should like the Viper unless there was some revision work done that prohibits it. At this point I don't see the need to mod a Panasonic Q because it's a rare console, very expensive, easy to break, and it's clear people without experience are trying to mod these things when they shouldn't be.

I see where you are coming from but I really do like to mod my console and I am not a noob at soldering, not perfect either but I have been successful in repairing my Panasonic Q by soldering the traces so they link again on the power board.

When you say you've seen it done before, are you implying that you've done it yourself? Or you've literally witnessed someone do it and that it worked??

    Hello APE?

Isn't there any way you could enlighten us (and me especially) on how to get the XenoGC working on the Panasonic Q by any chance?? :)
