And it's not me, I actually want one now. Mario Maker and all it's features seal the deal. I want a New Mario game I can just make it my own damn self. Starfox Zero looks fantastic. Games already out I gotta get Smash, Mario Kart 8, Hyrule warriors, and Splatoon. As much as I have an ethical problem with Nintendo the games draw me in. But my twitter, Facebook and other places alot of people are saying because Nintendo didn't show Zelda or anything brand new and just things we knew were coming everything is moving to the NX. I'm not sure myself, If somebody with as many problems with Nintendo as I have is left saying I WANT A WII U Nintendo did something right. I don't have to be sucked in by Amiibos. The way I see it, we don't even know what the NX is yet I've heard it's a console/handheld hybrid. We won't know until next year and even then it might not be out for 2 maybe 3 years. So check the temperature in hell, Nintendo sold me on the Wii U. I'll get one eventually. What do you all think?
I guess it's possible, but I don't see it. I think people are overreacting and don't understand that Nintendo does Nintendo Directs throughout the year, the E3 one lacking in content means absolutely nothing. They could pop up next month and announce a ton of new Wii U games for 2016. Also, glad you think Star Fox Zero looks good. It's bewildering to me how so many people are complaining about its graphics; I just have no idea what people expect anymore, I thought it looked great.
I like Star Fox, The game I bought when I got an N64 a few years back was Star Fox 64, I don't have any of the Gamecube Star Foxes but that will change once I get a working component Gamecube. The WII U's graphics are fine and for Nintendo games serve their purpose. That new Fire Emblem game looks amazing too. SO yeah the WII U appeals to me. Really pisses me off when people say Nintendo is Kiddy. I have my well documented problems with Nintendo but being Kiddy is not one of them. REAL MEN are not ashamed of playing as squid people.
The Gamecube Star Fox games are awful (well, only one of them is an actual Star Fox game to begin). In fact, every Star Fox game since 64 has been garbage, because for some reason they always want to cram in some shit that isn't rail shooting and sucks ass.
Disagree. Star Fox Command on DS was pretty great. Yeah, it had touch controls and no, it wasn't exclusively a rail-shooter, but damn that game was a lot of fun.
I still prefer Panzer Dragoon, but I've had my fun with Star Fox.......Might even fire the 64 up tonight for around.
Amusingly, when the original DS came out I remember saying that I would love to see a Panzer Dragoon remake implemented in the way they're doing the new Star Fox. That said, if Yukio Futatsugi isn't involved I don't want to see Sega try to make anymore Panzer Dragoon games. Granted, Crimson Dragon was pretty lame...
That's exactly what I saw. I remember John Carmack saying good stuff about the Wii U whenever it was in development, so I thought just maybe. Then I read the topic...
They doomed themselves for me when the only Metroid announcement they made was for that piece... 2D Metroid, please. The fans are keeping it more alive with hacking then Nintendo has in a decade of crap.
I did not play Metroid Other M, nor will I I ever. The possibilities for a new Metroid Prime game with the WII U controller though.......NINTENDO HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU NOT? Which is another gripe I have with Nintendo, they introduce these gimmicks then they (and 3rd parties) Don't use them to full potential as the life cycle moves on.
Had no Zero Suit Samus in it, so i hated it. Nintendo have the sexiest, bad ass bounty hunter, yet they never use her. Get your head out your ass Nintendo.
Samus is HOT.............use her Nintendo USE HER. While you're at it FZERO ME, I don't care what Miyamoto Said just give us another Goddamn F-Zero.
Nintendo had so much potential with the Wii U. But they had to ruin it with an underdeveloped gimmick ( the gamepad ) and Nintendo of Japan's stupid company management.
I really hope before they discontinue it they release a model in a different color. I really hate Nintendo for hopping on the glossy black&white bandwagon after the colorful N64 and Gamecube era.
If I had to pick any complaints about that game its the lack of multiplayer. I remember countless hours playing Star Fox 64 with my friends. Story mode looks awesome though. I actually dont mind the gamepad as much. It does actually add to some of the games, and it's essentially a live inventory screen. If anything, I would say it was mis-utilized rather than underdeveloped, but that's really just semantics. It's funny, the thing we complain about Nintendo the most (no new IPs and constantly relying on older franchises) is now what people are complaining that they want. They got a new IP this year (Splatoon), and yet, the populace is complaining that they aren't releasing older IPs, or ones in ways they want them (Zelda, Metroid). It makes me facepalm sometimes.
People poo poo the idea of Nintendo going 3rd party, but if they could paint on other canvases without the console R&D costs why not do it? They said they'd never go mobile and did, so who knows maybe a 3rd party Nintendo is in the future. distant future, but future none the less. I say this because they're the only people that seem to develop games on their consoles now who is going to buy a console just to play one company's games? Even the Neo Geo had a few 3rd parties. I'm not saying they should do it now I'm just saying it is something Nintendo should consider in the future.
Me. I got the Wii U for Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and the Nintendo titles. They are the only major game dev that can do this really.
Nintendo needed to show off everything last year for the Wii U to have a shot, so they did, and that's why there weren't many new games announced at this year's E3. Zelda was shown last year, Yoshi's Wooley World got a big show, and Star Fox was blatantly hinted at. If they hadn't announced those games, a lot of people on the fence about the system wouldn't have gotten it when Smash came out.
To me I feel like Nintendo is just wasting Console Development time and Money when they could be making amazing games. Competition is good But Nintendo isn't really a competitor they in their own world. I've established that YES my stance on Nintendo has changed a bit. But it boggles the mind that they still make consoles despite the fact that 3rd Parties have all but told Nintendo to fuck off. Think of the Budgets their games could have if they didn't have console R&D to deal with? Not that Nintendo is scrapped for cash or anything. I'm getting a Wii U yes, But I think it's something we need to ponder and open our minds to.
