    Hi there

first of all, here is a link to some pics of the the Saturn version running on my Saturn:
    http://www.sega-saturn.net/returnfire.htm

I never wanted to get money for this game.
I just thought it would be cool to have at least a professional cover and CD print...and just wanted to be paid for that costs - no profit for me anyway...

Prolific knows that they have to talk with Silent Software, that was the biggest problem in the past to set up a permission with them...

But if we don´t try, this game will die as many other games did before.
So you have nothing to loose - but i have to wait for the permission that they can´t kick my ass (as Ground Zero said) :-D

The game can be played on every modded Saturn (NTSC and PAL) or by doing the swap trick, as i can´t press original Saturn CD´s...the game would be available as download for all - as the idea to make real covers, manuals, etc. isn´t welcome for the most gamers out there, as they would have to pay 5-10 bucks for it...:smt1062

If you don´t like playing old and never released games in the future, i can stop my efforts immediately.

Welcome, Mr. Saturn, nice to have you aboard and I hope you have a pleasant stay ;-)
And I really appreciate your efforts!

  4. Mr. Saturn, does Prolific actually own the rights to Return Fire on Saturn, or are they just the ones who happened to come across the game?
The reason I'm asking is that unless they own the rights to it, they really can't do anything legally to stop you from doing whatever you feel like with the game, as it's not theirs in the first place. However, if they are the ones with the rights, it's another story.

Not that I'm advising you burn any bridges with your contacts or anything, and whoever DOES own the rights (if not Prolific) might not be too happy with the game's release, but if (as I've gathered from reading the thread) Prolific were the ones that supplied the game to you but are NOT the owner of the rights and code, then you have nothing to fear should you decide to release it, as they would have not a legal leg to stand on.

However, do what is obviously best for you, but know that there are quite a few out here who support your efforts and are very grateful that you are trying to get this game released. :-D

I'm all for Mr Saturns efforts. It's just a shame that more people out there who hold on to these unreleased games aren't as giving as Mr.Saturn. After all, what's so great holding on to something that's never been released if the rest of us know sweet F.A. about it? What we don't know won't hurt us.
