A lot of those adapters seem to be shaped in a way that fits all consoles, so you should be able to pretty much grab whatever you like. But try to find a photo of the back just to be sure.

Also note that while it will work, you do not need one of the two-slot adapters since you're already using the correct CIC (JP/US are identical), unless you want to play PAL games also. So you could get away with an adapter that doesn't have a a second cart sticking out the back.

There is another option... take the top off and remove the whole piece of plastic attached to the top inside. You will lose the spring back of the reset switch, and you'll have a gap for dust to get in around the cartridge connector... I think you lose the eject lever ability too. But that will prevent any damage to the actual console's plastics and will allow the sfc games to fit with ease.

Jump to 3:36 to see what I mean. In the video he says about removing the legs.. ignore that, just focus on the piece of plastic in his hand.

I found both of those on eBay but like I said, they're not so common. I'll let you know if I come across one.

Eh. I bought one of those adapters from eBay once and the damned thing didn't work, I got audio and no video. That's why I cut the tabs after taking the system apart, like Koralik did.

Even if you get an adapter make sure it has all the pins on each side as well to play games that had special chips (Starfox, Mario Kart, ect)

You can always get a screwdriver and remove the PCB from the cart. That is quite a bit more effort than just taking away the plastic tabs, though. Another option is to get a Game Genie, but you would have to remove the plastic tabs from it too.

The cheapest would be the snes game saver as it can work as a passthrough.

You can always buy a SNES backup copier like Multi Game Hunter and use that to run your Super Famicom games on your USA console

Unless you are specifically looking at running PAL games on a NTSC machine or vice versa those two cartridge adapters should be avoided anyway - there are some games (notably anything with the SA-1 chip in them) that just won't work on them at all because the signals from the CIC are being routed to the other cart and the SA-1 won't generate the ROM chip select signals in that case.

Simple really. Like what was said above North America, South America, Japan, and Korea, share an equivalent CIC.
Adapters have no reason to interact or bypass it in any fashion, when converting between them.

Put the pcb in an NTSC case.
