3G from current location: Speed from ADSL here: Speed from hotel room in Bangkok that I always stay at: Speed from random hotspot in Bangkok: Speed from my WiMax in Perth: Speed from ADSL in Perth: Think their my main connections
I just did the speed test on my new phone with some very impressive results. This isn't even running on 4G but another service called Ultra-band or something. basically a supped up 3G signal. They say you should get 21MBPS download speeds but they always bull shit. still, over 10MBPS on a phone is more than fast enough. That's fast enough to stream HD video, which I did last night without any buffering issues. Yakumo
Just so you know, speedtest.net can be highly inaccurate. I have had speed tests of 120mb on a 20mb connection, thats connected via a 100mb nic. You should use newsgroups to accurately test your download speed. That said, here is my speed (and this is DSL btw, so maybe the poll options should be updated to keep with the times).
I got my hardware and service upgraded. The ping times are still bad but at least I can download big files faster. I had to download Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit for this lappy I use due to the HDD crapping the OS partition out too badly to recover. The 3 GB file downloaded in like 3 hours with this new setup. Max continuous speed of download was around 300 Kbps. Slower than 73% of US? At least I can watch 1080p YouTube without buffering now. EDIT: My current download is running at 477 KBps right now.
that is still pretty poor. I can′t see how how you can watch YouTube HD at that speed either. Even with fash internet YouTube still buffers. @Flash, man you have a good connection. I take it is because not many Russians use high speed connections?
I guess it's because I have option enabled that prevent a video from starting automatically. I let it load a little before I start playing it. Doing that the download progress goes faster than the play speed so I don't get any buffering.
Ah yes, that would work. I need to do that sometimes. Quite a pain when you want to watch stuff straight away though.
