Finally I received my NBN - It looks like I finally have some decent upload speeds for YouTube videos.
Download is a bonus too of course, but old ADSL2 was enough for me. Just glad to have greater than 1mbit on the up! :)

Compared to 900Mbit/s DL, 750Mbit/s UL at home, yeah. Compared to 50-256k mobile internet in a village where my parents live now, which can be used only for mail, browsing (without pictures if you don't have enough patience to wait for about 3-5 minutes for site to load) and downloading small files - getting anything bigger than 150Mb if there's no download resume is a real pain due to disconnects and heavy packet loss, thanks to 5km distance to the nearest base station and interferences from airforce base and local radio station- it's damn fast.

I don't see 88 kbps in the poll. BTW at&t sucks!

They keep charging more each month. Think about it, 88 kbps DL speed and paying 40$ a month for something that slow.

They tell us if we go over 150 GB's a month the charges will increase but I doubt we could even get close to that with those horrible speeds!

Just tested my phone connection (4G) which I use for tethering here in work so the compnay can't monitor what I'm looking at.

    ^^ :concern:
    that's it!
i REALLY need out of this area.
a mobile (wireless) is getting over double upload/half download than my virgin cable tariff. (forty five GBP a month, and had to pay more to block landline telephone incoming calls, no TV, never use it, not in the package)
don't mind a shit ping like the one above as long as i can upload at reasonable rates.
    never MP game anyway....
    ...
can't wait to get out of this dump...and sky broadband...so i can upload more!
virgin monopolised the pipes, doing a 'BT' bending us over a barrel because they're the only game in the area, and a 3GS isn't an option regarding data amounts used for torrenting. (and i upload WAY more than i rip, that's a FACT! mobile packages don't allow it/capped at an early level, or i be on it.
baxx pisses me off with his iphoney and uploading a 200m avg mpeg to youtube in a few mins best, when it takes me half an hour at least a 100m upload on a WIRE! at least he can't torrent on it though....I WIN THE MUMS! :wink-new: )

Well, if you are not happy with that you won't like it when I tell you last week my home connection kicked in a whopping 683MBPS! download. It's actually a 1 GB connection but normally it's lower than 400MBPS. Not that I'm complaining as that's more than fast enough.

Even I am mad at that. You lucky son of a.... What're you paying? Even your phone connection is amazing. Damn. I hate where I live, my Internet choices are restricted to garbage Time Warner or AT&T.

My home connection is 4800 yen per month (about 47 USD) and is unlimited bandwidth. My phone connection cost about the same but that is limited to 7GB per month. After that the speed drops to 100kbps. 7GB is fine though as I don't download stuff with my phone plus it's connected to WiFi a lot of the time.

My internet connection is about the same as it was before, but something about the apartment I'm living in now messes with the wifi reception. So in my bedroom, which is where I have my desktop, it isn't nearly as fast as it should be. Strangely, I get much better reception with my MacBook Pro, maybe because of the wifi hardware it uses. I'm probably going to run an ethernet cable from my router in the living room to my desktop.

I just moved house, I used to live next to shops and offices im not sure if that area got priority speed but I had a 20mb connection, in my new place quite away from the busy parts the fastest speeds I can recive is 4mb and I feel the difference.
I used to watch youtube videos in 1080p now this one somtimes struggles keeping up with 360p at times.
