I'm suppose to have 16mb but I never seen it go higher than that. This is at best normally is around 9 to 10mb. But hey charge me for 16 anyway.
My internet speed results are: Download speed:3.400Mbps Upload speed :2.32Mbps I checked my internet connection speed at Scanmyspeed.com .

Sky Broadband sucks, I miss Telewest and their Surfboard modems. I can think of 2 times in 6 years that I ever had a problem with TW, with Sky I get disconnected without fail twice a day!
even though my connection is slow, im happy cause its stable (have yet to have a second disconnect thats not releated to ip change). also i dont really feel the throttle of some hosters (as those are still higher then what my connection gets) also: im on a DSL 2k connection, so im getting full speed (makes me happy again)
I got a call yesterday from NTT asking if I wanted to upgrade me Internet communications package for free as part of their high speed beta group. I already told them that they have given me a 100Mbps connection to which they said "oh, that's years old. We want you to test our new service starting in February". So I asked how fast is this new service expecting them to say a few hundred MBPS but I was way off. They are offering me a 1GBPS connection! 1GB!! Is there even any real use for that sort of speed at the moment? I mean, even with the connection I have now my wife and I both watch Hulu in HD while I have UK TV torrents seeding and downloading plus could be playing the 360 online with no lag. 1GB connection is going to be amazing but will we really get those speeds? I doubt it but even at half, 500Mbps will be very fast.
I'd say go for it! I would love to have an internet connection like that, but it might not have a real practical use. At the least, you could download and upload files incredibly fast. 1Gbps is what Google Fiber uses, and there's an ISP in Seattle that claims the same speed.
Even if you won't be maxing out the use of that connection, I think you should go for it if there's truly no extra charge.
I called them back today and said I'll go for it. They'll be comeing down to my place on the 18th to install the new modem system needed for the new connection. Man, this is going to be great when uploading the 2Gb files of Retro Core to my site.
