Anybody have Portal 2? I got it last Wednesday and haven't had much time to play it, but what I've seen of it looks awesome. The graphics are amazing, and the puzzles, though easy at first, get really interesting later on. Obviously, it's funny. I bought the PS3 version because it comes with the PC version - I thought, might as well get both versions. That way I can play co-op with someone using my PS3. Anyway, the PC version looks way better than the PS3 version. Everything is sharper, and the framerate is double that of the PS3 version.

WARNING: Not really a spoiler, but if you want to be surprised then don't read.

My favorite Portal 2 moment so far: on a conveyor belt with broken (dismantled) turrets heading towards an incinerator, there's one turret that looks perfectly fine, but as you pass it, it says, "I'm different!"

Too short, too easy, too much focus on coop and most people in coop are stupid or grief.

I didn't get Portal until it was free. I still have yet to finish it.

$49.99 for a sequel to a game I wasn't that excited about? Eh...

    Too easy.
    Co-Op was a challenge though.

i liked the very first test chambers in the lowest levels
    that go from 1951-1986

the co-op is rather enjoyable it has local co-op on the consoles
it atleast adds something more interesting then just a single player campaign

im not really worried about how short the game was

what im most excited about is what the map makers
are going to do with the new portal 2 engine

i wonder if ian boswel will port hetzchase nailway to portal 2
and im excited about his upcoming colors map for portal 2

Since I am always observing the source engine from a very technical standpoint, I was most blown away by the lighting and shadows, seriously outstanding, they must have reworked the lighting calculations completely. I hope they port EP2 to this new engine so I can utilize these new features.

The game itself is very Portal like (go figure), but I found it to be a tad more challenging and definitely a bit longer than the first.

+ Props to Valve's mappers for really giving us a good feeling of how gigantic the whole Aperture facility is! They did a great job of making the decaying ruins have a barren feel to them, devoid of life yet so much is still happening! ;-)

If its only a bit longer than the first which I got for free Valve must be nuts to think I'll spend $49.99 on the sequel.

I've already dropped 5+ hours into New Vegas and haven't scratched the surface yet. Games lately have been getting shorter and shorter. Though clearly Portal 2 will get modded nicely but we aren't buying a platform for mods, we're buying a full game at full game prices.

    Bah!

It's worth $20 not the 50 I paid. Very disgruntled.

When valve has another crazy brand new games @ 4.99 sale I'll buy it. I got the first portal game for free and loved it.

Thats how I got L4D2, TF2 and HL2:EP2. I got my $5 worth from L4D2, haven't touched TF2 in months and still have yet to finish HL2:EP2.

One of the few times I buy into everyone's hype and find myself disappointed.

Great game but sadly just too short and easy, both on single player and co-op. Still I really enjoyed my time spent with the game, just wish it could've lasted longer. Here's hoping for some hefty DLC packs...

Got it for $35 for the PC.

It is short, but the story was very enjoyable.

Like others mentioned, is way too easy. With the new elements they added, there really werent any puzzles that used more the 2-3 of them. There werent even any that required twitch portal shooting.

I was really hoping there would be at least 3-4 really diabolically difficult ones in the late stages, but never happened.

I hope they release some FREE advanced challenge rooms.

Yeah, the lighting is really nice. There's also some really impressive physics stuff going on, like the part in the beginning where your room is falling apart, and the part where GLaDOS is crushing the room you're in.

I actually found the puzzles overall more difficult, and was very glad that there wasn't much twitch portal shooting as that's what made me not finish the first one. I would agree that the game wasn't worth $50, but I'm also not upset or disappointed that I bought it on release day and beat it fairly quickly.

What is twitch shooting? I looked around a bit and couldn't find a clear definition, and nothing that seemed to have anything to do with Portal.

i think hes talking about where in portal 1 you had to several times shoot another portal as you were coming out of another portal

but to burst his bubble twitch portaling is quite common in co-op

I was going to write a review, but whatevs...

The game is much larger than the original, it really takes source to the limit although it still looks like a 7 yr old engine.

I dont like the fact that they changed the backstory, is still hilarious but now if you play the first it doesnt makes any sense.

Voice talent is top notch, it could be a good movie and you wouldnt be able to tell it was a game. Character animation is great too, even thought they are robots theres a lot of emotions, more than with human characters in other games.

However I think the game peaks when wheatley takes over, after the puzzles become a little too elaborated for my taste and I ended up wasting too much time there.

The ending its spectacular, second only to Dead Space 2 in epicness.

A must play, if you dont have the $60 wait a little until its half that or less.
