It probably IS MQ before the name/logo was decided, the copyright says 2003. The dumped version is (afaik) a finished debug build, and this might be a near completed one (assuming it's real). The same or similar build of MQ was listed here previously, but I do not think it was sold. Regardless someone who knows more than I do on OoT should confirm or correct me.

Okay guys, i just watched this Video and had a look to the flash board.
First of all, the price is ridiculous. That way he will never sell it. Maybe with 1000 GBP it could work.
If the Master Quest and the Majora Debug Version would have not been leaked years ago this would be a nice "find".
Second, this board must have been stolen from Nintendo of Europe directly.
The build on it seems legit. How can i tell? Well the big sticker on the back reveals it plus this is a 512 Mbit Card.

However, the game on it is basically a final build for the Gamecube much like this leaked Master Quest rom.
NOE just flashed this to N64 for Testing (look for the changed Buttons).
Except for the changed buttons to match Gamecube and the attached debug menu this build contains nothing new or special.
Everything you may have found on the Master Quest Debug you will find here aswell.

I don't think the owner of the cart realize he is may be at the end of chain of a scam. Some people use gangwriter with beta/unreleased game rom that can be found on the web and resells "outstanding" protos.

I heard many bad stories about them and I am afraid it won't be the first or the last one.

That is news to me I'd love to know what Cendamos has besides the debug MM he shared. Here is the other build of OoT MQ I mentioned. I wish these 2 would get dumped but I do not expect anyone to take the gamble for what will likely be vain.

It's a common ROM. It's the master quest ROM. They just altered the title screen and tossed it onto a dev cart. It's not that difficult, there's tons of Zelda 64 hacks. In the video he made when he goes into the pause menu the arrows used are L & R. Rather than Z & R like it would be on the N64. This is the Gamecube port of master quest, or the regular gamecube port that's had the debugging materials switched on.

I have a VERY strong feeling that this is a scam. You have to ask yourself a very important question, and here's why: If this is a Gamecube version of the ROM that was to be used to test the N64 emulator on the Zelda collector's disc, why would they have bothered to put it on a N64 dev cart? Those builds were meant to test in an emulator. Testing them on N64 seems a tad redundant.

Anywho, here's OOT and MM debug roms in case someone wants to do more research: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/5haofl4680bcfew,ujsovryp5dva5or/shared

    Somebody just snatched it.

    Sold for GBP 100,000.

Sorry, jumped the gun. This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing. Supposedly.

How would Nintendo develop for this game on anything other then N64 development hardware without first building an emulator? If graphical data came before emulator data then you know for sure that this game at least at one point existed on a dev cart, because how else would they develop and test the game?

Let's presume there were two phases of development here, 1) the graphical updates and 2) the coding of the emulator. Presuming the graphical updates came first then Nintendo must have ran the game on N64 development hardware, otherwise they would have already had a working emulator in place for testing on the NGC and thus no need to outsource the game to a 3rd party.

    - Build emulator > develop on NGC

    - Develop on N64 > build emulator

I'd argue that the latter seems the least problematic out of the two, to develop the game on N64 hardware and then optimise the emulator to the games needs. Developing the emulator first and then developing the game just seems like a backwards way to go about it to me.

I just want to say that this proto may be a fake. I don't say it is a fake for sure. And it is unlikely the fault of the current owner of the proto if it is a fake.

a 512 megs cart is quite unusual so it also prove that at least the hardware is quite a nice and rare piece of hardware.

The concern is more about the data on the cart itself, which is the rom debug version of OOT obviously, except if there is something new that would come up.

At current stage I just prefer giving a warning but nothing else.
