I will look for one of those adapters, if I am lucky I can buy one from Blashyrkhmr101 .

Damn, well okay. I won it on an auction for 1 dollar, so it's not the biggest loss.
Just to be on the safe side!
    Would this one work? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/PATA-IDE-TO-...15-Pin-3-5-2-5-SATA-HDD-DVD-SU-/201214643372?

I do not know. But you will need IDE and molex extender cables to try (which will cost more than this adapter).

Or buy 44 pin to 40 IDE adapter for your $1 sata adapter.

Don't forget to post here if adapter works.

Couldn't I just desolder the molex connector and then cut the end of a molex cable and solder the wires on the board directly?

I really only did it to test it out and it stuck out a little bit when I tested it with a 3.5" drive, and I had to take off many of the screws from the adapter to move things around inside of it. It would probably be better to stick with a 2.5" drive unless you want to modify the adapter in some way. Aesthetics aside, if you can get it to connect, it should work.

Are you sure it was this adapter and not this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-5-40Pin-m...956?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2579af90cc

I have bought the adapter, and I have a couple of IDE-stuff laying around, so I'm sure I can find out something, extending both the molex and IDE connectors :)
It will problably be a little while before I receive the items, but I will make sure that I post my results in here !

Awesome! Keep us posted. Are you going to use a 3.5" or 2.5" drive?

I will have trouble fitting everything, if using anything but a 2.5". It's also the only size I have access to at the moment :)

Yeah, 2.5" is the way to go, otherwise you'd have to do some mods to the adapter and what-not.

    Great to hear!
I make sure to uploade some pictures and what not, once I've gathered all the parts.
I've might got a deal with a fellow assembler in here, on the ps2 network adapter, which is the last thing I need to purchase :D

    Quick question !
Would it be possible to use a 2.5" Pata hard drive, without adapters?

    Thank you !
Just bought one, I found a 40 GB Pata today.
So I will test it with that one.
Is it possible to FTP, games to the harddrive via the internet adapter?
Or do I need to connect the hard drive to pc?
