Very rarely are those retention clips soldered in (take a look at the back of a PC mobo behind the RAM slots), they are used to hold the part down before it gets soldered..

Another Option is to buy a genuine network adapter and then buy this PCB :) http://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/...SCPH-10350-with-fre-shipping/1690899561.html#

That's neat, I've never seen that before. Have you tried it and does it work well?

Only found it a few weeks ago, I'm assuming it works fine as the FCC cable is 1:1 to the IDE connector iirc (no extra processing on the daughter PCB). Looks to be a simple PATA to SATA controller IC :)

    EDIT:
    Yep blanketty - blank

I have recieved everything and it all works very well!
    One question left!
When I copy HDLOADER.ELF to my boot folder on Memory card, it doesn't show up at boot?
I have to use UlaunchELF and open it manually everytime..
Is there a way to get it to boot up, when booting PS2 ?

P.S! It's fantastic to be back at assembler!

Use Open PS2 Loader and FMCB for booting.
