hrm.. i think Runark is a bit overrated... not that it is bad just there are several others in the genre that are much better.
Also during this timeperiod Taito had some messy graphicdesign that i don't like too much... but the music is great... as always from Zuntata ;-)

That last Saturn game looks interesting, Segafreak_NL. What type of game is it?

Today I bought a new 26 inch flat screen TV for only 5000 yen ! for my Retro Gaming.

From the front it doesn't look too interesting as far as inputs go. One crappy composite and a S-Video in.

But around the back is where the magic starts because this TV while not full HD ready can still out put up to 720p and 720i ! NICE ! The back includes 1 D-Sub terminal (like Component I believe) and or course a full set of Component inputs, another S-Video in and 3 stereo composite inputs plus one mono composite input. Why add the mono one I have no idea.

Now the reason it was so cheap is because it has no remote control unit so Hard Off couldn't get any TV signal on it. However it was already tuned for Cable TV which my home has so I can see all the TV stations plus games in lovely (semi) HD. Wii looks fantastic through component. Anyway, I managed to get a remote control unit from Yahoo for 2000 yen. So in total a nice HD gaming set up for a grand total of 7000 yen :) I'm very happy.

    Ge Ge Ge no Kitarō)

5000 yen for the tv, that's cheap!
A ps1 devkit cdrom arrived in the mail box yesterday.
Once in a while I have a bit of music frenzy and I bought a lot of discs at once, this time it's dub war oriented as I got many promo cd, limited edition EP, some LP I didn't have, a japanese edition that supposedly is of better quality, I will have to hear it to judge that...

Yakamo : The D Terminal is component video, but it is strange it only has a D1 socket which is just 480i (With D2 being 480p, D3 being 1080i, D4 being 720p and D5 being 1080p). What makes you think it will do 720p? Still for 5000 Yen it is quite a bargain.

I managed to get a Compile Disc Station magazine, which was new, so I am in two minds of whether to rip the disc out as it does have a version of Nazo Puyo.... Now I am trying to find the rest of the damn things, yeah I wish.... :crying:

Yeah there were three for sale but I think that was an error on the sellers part.

Really? Bugger. Hard Off had written on the info card that it was 720p and 720i compatable :banghead: Still, for 5000 yen it's still nice. Stange thing is that when I set the Wii to progressive scan I got two of the same image on the screen  I'm running the Wii through component.

Sounds like it does only support 480i and 720p was just a figment of the imagination of the salesperson who wrote the information card. With Japanese TVs if it has a D socket, it will normally tell you what D types it suppors. The Samsung LCD screen I have in my apartment has D1/D2 under the D terminal, so I know it will do 480i and 480p. Do not assume that just because it has Component video sockets it will do 480p or higher, it just means it can support Component video at least at 480i...

For 720p you would need a TV that has a D4 socket...

Got a mint copy of batman and robin on sega cd and an official n64 rumble pack for $20 at an independent game store.

Btw yakumo, have you tried holding b and booting up f-zero gx on your wii?

It should ask you if you want to boot in progressive mode then if you still see a picture and its sharper, it means your tv supports at least 480p.

Yeah, just tried it. I got an image but it was doubbled like the Wii menu. Looks like it's 480i only. Still better than the S-Video I put up with on my old TV though. Even the DC looks sharper on this set through S-Video than what it did on my old TV.

Damnit I'd have taken you up a few hours ago, but I've just bought a 2GB card on ebay. Until that comes I'm using the crappy 16mb built in, and taking about 3 photos at a time before I need to upload them to my computer! I'm very impressed with it for the price, although I was guided a lot by a friend who knows a lot more than me!

    no worries

if its anything like my 5500 its took me a week to figure out how to take a decent picture on it as theres that many settings and options! as its not just a point and shoot camera, but once you get used to it the quaility can be fantastic

Thats the plan - I'd get bored with a point n shoot compact, I want something with lots of options and buttons to play with.
