Some more Saturn Satakore budget games this week. Not many more to go for the complete set. And two normal released games.



Also got a whopping big box of Mega CD stuff this week, 55 titles in total. Out of which I'm keeping the following.

Yakumo - is that Magical Drop III on the Saturn?

I love the Magical Drop series. I play it constantly on my Neo Geo. I never paid attention that it came out on Saturn.

 

Yep, it sure is. All 3 games came out on the Saturn. The Saturn was home to many Neo Geo ports such as Winner Stakes 1 & 2 and Sonic Wings. Well, sort of. The Saturn Sonic Wings is a remix of all the games in 1.

I overlooked a lot of the Saturn titles that came out in Japan because it never took off well here in the states. Thanks for the notice - I will definitely start getting a better collection going.

 

Note that all those Neo Geo ports to the Saturn were of constantly high quality other than on the PSX. The additional RAM was truly a great advantage to any other "ordinary" console back then, just take a look at KoF '98 on PSX... ^_^

 

Only the fighting games were higher quality, everything else was basically the same on both machines, except for the other games that were only released on the Playstation (Samurai Spirits 1 & 2, Idol Puzzle Money Exchanger, etc).

Although nowdays a PS2 and you have the best selection of Neo Geo games outside of the Neo Geo.

 

PS2 - what is that? ;-)

 

It's the console that has the most Neo Geo games on it outside of the Neo Geo and Neo Geo CD.

I bought a samurai showdown 4 japanese mvs cartridge off of ebay. Got it from neo amusement so I'm pretty hopeful that it won't be a bootleg. It was pretty darn cheap. And a very fun game. Me and my buddy like it a lot so I expect we'll easily get the money value back out of playing this thing.

*edit* just bought a legit neo drift out mvs cartridge with shock box off of ebay because the price dropped

from memory, only about 47 or so. There are quite a few expensive titles though such as Princes Crown, DoDonpachi, Chaos Seed, Metal Black and Thunder Force V.

Hyaku Monogatari is a fucker to get, too. I never saw it so far, but on the other hand I never really looked for the SK-release, just for the regular one.

 

Yes, you are right. Just checked my list and there are 66 of them, I own 46. I guess that's what confused me. By the way, I found Hyaku Monogatari with no problem what so ever. Finding stuff depends upon what part of Japan you look in. There's stuff I never see down here and then there's stuff I see quite often yet others think it's really rare.
