Rareish Gamecubes bought for a friend.

A couple of Playstation games I have been after for a while but been too cheap to buy them for the prices they were at. Happy to get Magical Drop III and Puyo Puyo Box for buttons and to finally pick up Tetris Plus. I do love stores sometimes as the PS2 games are 3 to 4 times as much in stores that are a few miles away...

A Saturn puzzle game that I realise I did not have or I think I don't anyway. Plus the original release of Melty Blood on the PC, an artist that I like CG disc and a Neo Geo Pocket game that was cheap and not a Pachislo game...

Picked up a PSP 1003 but i'm not able to use wifi on it as i get an error when i try to do a scan though everything works. It's going back to gamestation anyway even though i might not use wifi on it. Wanted a slim and Lite but they had none even though their system said they did so took a base unit instead.

Some great stuff this week all at give-a-way prices!!

Brand New Pioneer compact Bluray Player that does everything bar 3D (not that 3D would be any use to me) - 7800 yen
Brand New Ghostbusters BluRay - 920 yen
Used Panasonic Mini Disc player - 350 yen (bought to copy all my old Mini Discs to MP3)
Brand New Red Dead Redemption - ONLY 1300 yen!!! this is because it's in English and the Japanese version was released this week for 7800 yen. What a deal! Sometimes living in a country where they can't speak English does have advantages.

Just bought a Dreamcast with Sonic Adventure, controller and VMU for £20 posted.

With my spare change I picked up one of Racket Boy's all in one VGA cables. Hopefully coming from the US it'll turn up quickly as I can't wait to get me some high quality Dreamcast video.

It'll be the start of my third Dreamcast collection. First one was a complete PAL collection, second didn't amount to much, this one is going to be epic.

Also, not bought but acquired Red Dead Redemption, Ico/Shadow Of The Colossus HD and Deus Ex Human Revolution.

As most of you know I'm a complete Uncharted freak 'nut-case' I just can't get enough of the series/franchise.

This is the Concept Art of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune given at the PAX 2007.

EDIT: Thanks for the thumbs up Juste, now my quest begins to hunt down the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Press Kit and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Mini Chest Ring :flamethrower:

Finally got time to return my faulty PSP and got a model in better condition than the one i returned along with finding a 4GB memory stick in the system which was something i was planning on buying so no need to now.

At least i can connect it to wifi unlike the previous one which just gave me an error when trying to scan for wifi networks.

I just bought Sonic 3 & Knuckles @ £1.99 in the Steam Weekend Sale. Yeah I could have got it for £0.99 if I bought it at Christmas but I was skint, yeah I can get it for less if I buy it as part of a compliation, but I don't want a whole compilation - just this. In fact I probably have it in several compilations already but fuck it I have it again! :p

You paid 2GBP for a 16 year old 1 Megabyte-file that is identical to a widely available ROM and does not offer you the slightest benefit?

    Seriously, WTF.

I believe you both will never get to an agreement on the digital download/distributed games issue xD

I hate Digital Downloads. It's going to kill our passion in the end but everyone has their own opinion and right to like what they want so i keep quiet. If LeGIt wants to do digital Downloads then that is cool. I just hope it NEVER becomes the only option.

I know I should keep my mouth shut, but it itches when a soulless ripoff (such as $3 for a 16 year old ROM file) is celebrated like that. I dunno. Why even bother posting this? Technically it's not a trade. You trade money for nothing. Previously this has been justified with instant access, easy availability, online-gaming and cheap price. Sonic 3 & Knuckles does not have any of this, it's plain lazyness if you ask me - lazyness that supports a development and business practices that disgust me.

But here we go again. Let's celebrate soulless money-wasting for the sake of technology. Companies will eventually find a way to rip off customers even more by minimizing their variable costs to 0.0001%, yet prices will only be cut by 50%. People will call it a great deal. I won't budge, fuck that. Seriously, how fucked up is this world gonna get?

What really pisses me off is that there are people who seriously defend and justify it. How in the world do you "own" a game MORE when you buy it off steam than when you download it off rom-page XXX? You don't! They make you think you do, but there's no difference. You pay money for it, that's the difference. It's retarded.

Much to Ave's dismay I've just bought Sonic CD from Steam @ £3.99. I've never played this game - back when I was young I couldn't afford the Mega CD and I have fond memories of pawing at the Sonic CD case in WH Smiths but I couldn't afford that either. No, it was not on sale - I paid full price.

What I suspect may make Ave chuckle is that now I've bought the game I can't play it as "No Steam servers are currently configured to deliver content for this game. This will be corrected soon. Please try again in a few minutes." Whilst it is an inconvenience I'm not too concerned as a friend is here and we got other things we could be playing right now.

Oh and the difference Ave is legal vs illegal. You pay for the licence. Physcial copy you pay for the licence too. only difference is you get a hardcopy, the licence is equally fictitious.

EDIT: Even more annoyingly I can't even sign into Steam now. A friend is here with his PC on my LAN and he sails right in whereas mine refuses saying "Could not connect to the steam network. This could be due to a problem with your internet connection, or the Steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info."

    EDIT: Repaired Steam. Problem solved.

And this is why digital copies through steam or any system with DRM like Final Fight on the PS3 are a heap of shit. You can't play the game you paid for now because the service is off line.:crying:
