Can inform you on the beats, they're better than you'd expect, the build quality is SHIT though. If you can get some Sennheiser's instead.

Mate ordered 50 of the beats because they look like the real McCoy, when you listen to the real deal though and then those the quality is noticeable, not to mention the qualities crap, he made a tidy profit though.

Alas it does pay off because I don't pay anywhere near full price, the major drag being if I really want a title I have to pay out of my arse for it, or wait for it to come on sale. The only title I'd consider paying full price for at the moment is Battlefield 3 mainly because by the time the price is reasonable the servers will be empty. Well that and I've followed the Battlefield series since BF 1942 in March 2003. Saint's Row the Third looks interesting as does Arkham City (the latter I'm buying off ASSEMbler for a relatively reasonable price tomorrow) but there is no way in hell I'm going to pay £40 for digital download or £30 for a hardcopy of them, especially not when they drop to £15 6 months later and my budget is tight.

As for selling games, most local shops refuse to accept used PC games because the majority of them use non transferable account bound serial keys, effectively making the physical media worthless. The nearest CEX to me are several miles away and in shithole towns I rarely visit. It would cost me more going there in time, effort and bus fare than I'd ever get back - even if they did accept them. For example I got Batman Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition on digital download for £3.75 - the closest I can get that as a physical copy is £11.50, it may not include the DLC and I'd never get that £11.50 back. Also I'd never be able to play the game again should the mood strike or show it off to a friend upon resale. I'd also never get my £3.75 back from the digital download either, but I have lost less money per title and with the money saved I can buy more titles whilst maintaining a vast library. Also did you notice a while back I got Deus Ex Human Revolution for £1?

I'd admit I'm spending more than I usually would on download titles at the moment, even on some I only have a moderate interest in, but that is mostly because I want to experience the DirectX 11 goodness sooner rather than later. I'm down to about a dozen titles left to complete the DX11 set then I'll calm down a fair bit - partly because I got 100 titles on my Steam account within 6 months and I got a lot of completing to do (though some I bought only for nostalgia) :p

Either way I prefer what I'm doing and I'm happy with it, even as a former VAC banned person. It may not work for you but it does for me so ;)

Anyhow I've just bought Dragon Age II with the Black Emporium DLC @ £5.24 from the EA Origin Advent Calendar 2011 Week 1 Day 6 Sale. It was originally 50% off which would have made it £7.49 (reduced from £14.99) however I applied a promo code too for an additional discount.

EDIT: I bought the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam Expansion/DLC off EA Origin @ £6.99.

It seemed to be a flash sale or error something as it was reduced from £9.99 with no announcement and vanished as quickly as it came. A bunch of other items were on sale too such as Bad Company 2 itself was reduced from £19.99 to £13.99 and the store has stopped accepting the 30% off coupon code which is not supposed to expire until tomorrow - I was going to use it to buy Battlefield 3 :(

EDIT: I bought Alien vs Predator @ $23.45 from ImpulseDriven.

It was more than I'd have like to have paid to be honest - especially as they had it advertised on sale for £5 yesterday and Steam had it for £7.50 the other week, but I'm just looking to Blitz through my DirectX 11 wish list now. Yeah I could have got it for £3.50 cheaper iff I waited and got the physical copy but it was still at least £1.50 cheaper than download copies and I just want it over and done with and without the DRM. Also it was my first purchase from this store and I wanted to try them out for future reference ;)

EDIT: I just bought Colin McRae Dirt 2 @ £3.75 in the Direct2Drive Daily Deal.

This was my first ever purchase with this provider too. I think I've covered all of the major players in the digital distribution market now?

EDIT: I just bought Homefront @ £7.49, Fire Sale Map Pack @ £0.49, Express 870 Shotgun DLC @ £0.17 and The Rock Map Pack @ £0.74 in the Steam Daily Deal / Wishlist Giveaway.

EDIT: I just bought Battlefield 3 @ £27.99 from EA Origin. Yeah I can get ther retail copy with LE map pack for that, but I don't want to mess about with the DRM or wait a few days for delivery.

Bought a cheap wireless smartpad and mini keyboard device for £19. Currently have it in use on my laptop connected to my living room TV and it works really well for navigating my PC.

Do want to build a small HTPC at somepoint but my laptop is fine just now.

Forgot to post I bought a wired Xbox 360 Controller, Orcs Must Die, The King Arthur Collection, Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion and Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 as christmas presents for a friend in ISAF, though he won't be back from work until January.

Also yesterday I bought the Battlefield 3 Back to Karkhand pack @11.99 from EA Origin and what a waste of money that was - they are the Battlefield 2 maps but without the Battlefield 2 fun. Battlefield 3 is turning out to be quite the disappointment (when it works). Even Bad Company 2 was more enjoyable than this as the multiplayer maps were not complete and utter toss. One of my other gripes being you have to unlock so many things now it is stupid - you even have to unlock things that are default features of the previous games. It is nice to have a greater degree of customisation... but to have to unlock even the basics.. I mean WTF. Maybe given time I'll learn to love it and the people you play with make the biggest difference, but take it from a Battlefield veteran of 8-9 years - it feels like a second rate game by far at present and the fact you have to use the second rate EA Origin makes it eugh...

Press-kit for upcoming Uprising44 - The Silent Shadows.
Got it for free, I think about 50 were made since it was produced exclusively for Polish press, hence language of attached flyers. Game will be released in Q2 2012 for PC and X360.

Ah, my old Valis III is now gone. I'm re-buying some of my all time fav' MD games in 100% as new condition. Best of all some games are quite cheap at the moment.

It's actually a Final Fantasy PS3 but it's not mine. I got it for someone in the UK. It's now out of my home and on it's journey to a new life abroad.

A few more MD gems today.

Rolling Thunder II, Phelios and Wardner No Mori.

Finally caught up on the PS3 import library, looks like thats it LOLOLOLOL. Bloody well hard to find sealed original print versions of boku 3 & katamari. And as a nice freebie the seller flung in what i think might be white knight chronicles, not sure if that one is my kind of game but for free im not going to complain.

I bought another 8Gb (2x 4Gb) of DDR3 1600MHz for my PC today. I have no particular need for it but the exact same stuff cost me twice as much 6 months ago and I'd like to fill the other slots. That said I'm starting to do more editing now so it will come in handy for that and give me less page file usage on my SSD. Sadly I'll be broke for a while now so probably not much new being bought in the Steam sale for a while unless it is something particularly amazing.

FFS not again. It isn't hard to grasp...

    A) the physical copy costs more (in this instance £1.80)
    b) a physical copy will take several days to arrive vs. several hours virtual
    c) when you install the physical copy you are forced to use the virtual DRM and systems such as Steam, Games for Windows Live or Origin anyway
    d) the physical copy usually needs the disc present in the drive or faffing about with an ISO or nocd patches (which are often full of virus and break game patching unless you bother to micromanage)
    e) the physical copy may work fine if you're online but may force you do use the disc if the DRM detects it is offline
    f) the serial keys are account bound whether you use physical or virtual copies and as such you cannot expect to resell the used copy as it no longer has any value (unplayable without valid key)
    g) a virtual copy isnt eco friendly but eco friendlier than a physical copy
    h) I'm a clumsy tard and break most of my things sooner or later

In short the physical copy has greater cost, greater inconvenience and greater environmental impact. Plus it will be worth a grand total of fuck all once the account bound serial key is used, the paperwork soiled, the case is smashed and the disc scratched.

Who cares as long as it stays to PC gaming? Not me but that's because I'm not a PC games (I look like a selfish bugger) Once this "virtual ownership" of games becomes mainstream on consoles then I'll be very worried.

Just picked up Logitech x-210 2.1 speakers for my PC, was marked at £19.99 but they were scanned at £14.99. They will be replacing my basic/average 5.0 (2 front, 2 back and centre) setup that was running of an AV receiver which will go downstairs and be used in place of my TV speakers.

So far they are sounding really good with music but yet to game with them on but going to be pretty good i think and for £15 i think they were a great purchase.
