Solid camera for the price Yakumo. Don't be afraid to buy a good flash for it if you can, or a tripod. Take the time to learn it, and it'll serve you well.

I Downloaded the English manual for it yesterday so I'm going to have a good read of that. Maybe see if I can update the firmware to and English version as well. I can read the Japanese one but would prefer it to be in English. Strange thing is that my Panasonic HD video camera has an English setting as does my old Panasonic camera but this new one doesn't.

Im half an hour into the next day but hopefully the sale is still on as Steam is US based. Thanks for the heads up legit

EDIT: Well you can call me the proud owner of Bully Scholarship Edition for £2.49!

I played the original of this game for PS2 ALOT back when I was in year 7/8. Slammed school alot for it and beat it more than six times, finished it 100% twice. Bought SE and was put off by glitches that were eventually patched. Not sure how many times I finished it then.

If you can, see if you can order a book on either your camera, or just photography in general. Not that there aren't online resources, but having other stuff to go off of has helped me a ton.

I just bought Hamilton's Great Adventure @ £7.99 and its Retro Fever DLC @ £0.99 on Steam.

    Wait a minute...

    ...something is seriously wrong here!

I bought a game on Steam and it was not on sale?

    Yup! Why you may ask?

Firstly, I reformatted my PC yesterday and I got tired of waiting several hours to backup my Steam folder so I got impatient, fucked everything off and I wanted to download something that wasn't several gigabytes in size so I can play something sooner rather than later. I wiped my PC partly to reflash/upgrade the firmware on my damned SSD (it started bugging out AGAIN) and partly because I decided to retry for some Intel Z68 love whilst I was at it (Smart Response Technology and Lucid Logix Virtu).

As for the game itself, partly because it is under a tenner and reasonably rated but mostly because I've been bitten by the DirectX 11 love bug (tesselation yay!).... oh and it's my birthday today too so :p

Crysis 2 @ £6.29 from the EA Origin Advent Calendar 2011 Week 1 Day 3 Sale. It was originally 40% off which would have made it £8.99 (reduced from £14.99) however I applied a promo code too for an additional discount. In fact I'm surprised the two promotions were not mutually exclusive? Either EA screwed up as per usual or they are actually giving people a good deal for the first time in a long time (a likely story...)

Origin is still such a turn off... but thanks in part to the sale and a lack of suitable alternatives I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. The last thing I need is yet another badly coded EA application which will inevitably break, rebrand or fold but given as Crysis 2 was pulled from Steam and as much as I used to like GameSpy & FilePlanet, Direct2Drive is even less appealing (that Comrade app too... seriously WTF?) but with my current taste for DirectX 11 love at present I was running out of options.

EDIT: Downlaoded and installed Crysis 2 and it looks AMAZING - it looks infinitely better than the original Crysis and even with everything at Ultra I'm still getting a better FPS count than the old FarCry/Crysis crap. If it plays as good as it looks then it could be a real winner. Naturally being an EA game there are several issues off that bat though. Firstly that there is no autopatcher for the DirectX 11 mode and the higher quality textures, you have to download them manually. There is an autopatcher but it only seems to do the core files. I remember the days of manual patches but given that it has an autopatch feature, this half and half seems odd. I guess it saves people who don't want or are not able to use the advanced features from having to download another 2Gb of files though. The links to the DirectX 11 and higher quality texture packs from the in game browser were dead already - I had to google for them. Also, after updating to 1.9 with the DirectX 11 and higher quality textures add-on Origin now spits out an error message saying there is something wrong with the version every time I boot from within the application! Also I'm struggling to find a store with the Retaliation and Decimation DLC and on top of this my serial key now appears to randomly become invalid for multiplayer!

Just bought the Humble Introversion Bundle for USD 10 @ http://www.humblebundle.com/
'been buying these since #2, got addicted to 'em... (I regret I did not buy the first one...)

For those of you not aware: the Humble Bundle is a bundle of indie games put together by the Humble Bundle "company" (in agreement with the developers); they sell it to you for whatever you want to/can pay. You also choose how to split that money you pay between the company, charity and the developers.
Even better, all games are DRM-free, most games are available for most popular platforms (i.e. Windows, Linux, Mac), most include the soundtrack, some include the source code... if you pay above the average (generally around USD 5) they usually give you additional games.
You even get Steam (and Desura) codes to redeem the games in said stores if you like (at no additional charge).
Not sure what else can I say, but if you like Indie games, you should definitely check it out.

I was already familiar with Introversion software and already had their games, but couldn't resist the idea of getting the soundtrack, source code and other games for what I could pay.... heck, even if they just offered the games I already had, I would have paid anyway!

Wikipedia hosts a list of games offered in previous Humble Bundles:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humble_Bundle

PS: I'm not affiliated with the Humble Bundle at all, but definitely like the games they offer as well as the idea behind the project.

I just bought Battlefield Bad Company 2 for £5.04 from GAME downloads.

Most download providers have it for £15-20 but I noticed GAME were selling the product key for £8.99. I figured I'd have me some of that (lovely jubbly DirectX 11 :D) and redeemed my loyalty card points to bring the cost down further. I didn't sleep last night though and it's an 8.3Gb download... yes via the dreaded Origin too but I'm looking forwards to playing this on my PC, having already got the platinum trophy for it on PlayStation 3.

Am I the only one who this celebration of spiritless download-purchases makes chuckle a bit every time he reads it? Lol

I don't know how anyone can get customer satisfaction out of that. I felt like I've been robbed rather than like I just traded my work for something. It's like buying bottled water from a booth right next to a water fountain.

Just bought Terranigma (SNES), Game & Watch Gallery Advance (GBA), Mega Man III (GB) and Pop'n Twinbee (GB), all loose and PAL/EUR, at a flea market.

All are working fine besides Twinbee. That one either dies right on bootup or after the Konami logo. None of the usual stuff works (cleaning the contacts, etc) so I'm guessing it's a lost cause... well, at least it was cheap, so I didn't waste too much money on it.

Also - despite not being a fan of digital distribution either, but what to do when something you want is download only? - got Terraria on Steam in their 24 hour deal a few days ago.

Oh don't get this twisted I'm not celebrating the fact I'm downloading the games, merely that a) I now own them b) I'll soon be able to play them and c) I got them for a good price. My original Steam account was VAC banned for some stupid shit (3 months after the infraction and after I bought other things too such as Team Fortress 2) and EA are banning people off Origin for violating forum rules so I know all too well how easy it is to get shafted by digital content providers and how much it butthurts. When downloads are supposed to be cheaper for the publisher thus more profitable its odd how in most cases the physical media can be bought for less from Amazon or Play etc. I used to love the trips home from town, pawing at my purchases and reading the manuals on the bus ride home - the tactile experience is differently a better experience. However when purchasing in the sales I'm looking at it this way - a) it's cheaper b) I can have the game to play today c) I can now afford the game to even play at all and d) without any stupid shit like keeping a disc or ISO in the drive or fanny about with a nocd crack and on that note:

I've just purchased Lost Planet 2 @ £6.78 and Red Faction Armageddon @ £7.48 via GamersGate Holiday Gift Guide 2011 Week 2 sale.

They were my first purchases from this particular store but it seemed reputable. As I'm desperate to play Lost Planet 2 in DirectX 11 mode on PC (I was about to fork out £19.99 for it, sank 400+ hours into this game before I sold my PlayStation 3) and Red Faction Armageddon was on my wishlist, given that they were the cheapest downloadable form I could find I figured I'd give GamersGate a go. I had to put the payment on a relative's card as my bank balance is empty until Wednesday, but I have cash on me so I reimbursed them in full.

    a) Yes and no, if you get bored of the game or you don't like it you can at least sell the Physical version and sometimes not lose anything at all. There have been times when you could buy a game from Amazon and sell it to CEX for more then you paid for the game. Also see b
    b) Have patience young one , unless there is a game you really want to play online then a lot of games plummet in value rather quickly.

On a on topic note. Today I picked up for the Playstation

    Gradius Gaiden
    Puyo Puyo Box
    Tetris Plus

For about what I pay for lunch over 2 days.

Back when I was paying £40 a game and getting £10-£20 on trade in off my next purchase when I was earning next to nothing for breaking my balls at a plastics factory, trading in was worthwhile. Take Bully Scholarship Edition for example. If I got a retail copy for same price as download at £2.49, would there be any point in trying to sell it given as it is such a pitiful sum of money? Yeah money all adds up and by not selling old games there is some wastage - but for the same amount of spending and loss I'm getting more games for my money than I did a decade ago and I'm happy to keep them on my account indefinitely as a result, albeit the chances of them being replayed at a future date may be slim or some far way off. Also the majority of the games I purchase via download are at the cheaper post-plummet prices, or at least reasonable.

Anyhow I've just bought the Red Faction Armageddon Path of War DLC @ £2.25 via the GamersGate Holiday Gift Guide 2011 Week 2 Sale.

When it turns mignight, going off the clue EA Origin has posted there will be an offer on a Dragon Age title - I'm hoping it is a discount on Dragon Age II, but if it's just free DLC or something I'll try use a promo code for a few more bucks off.

That only pays off if you really need all the games by release and don't want to pay the horrendous $50 or whatever they charge for new PC games. But just add up all the money you spend on downloads. Must have been hundreds of GBP over the past couple of weeks, and it's all lost! At least for me it'd be. You can never resell it, it's gone. I'm horrified by this and it's the main reason I'd NEVER pay money for downloads. It distorts the entire idea of paying money for goods - because downloads are not a good. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but for me an item that does not require any input costs is a ripoff and not worth a single cent.
