Picked up an IBM PC 5150, with 256KB RAM, original keyboard, two IBM Tandon 360KB full height 5.25" floppy drives, Seagate 5.25" 32MB MFM HDD and Adaptec controller, Multi I/O+RTC card, and an amber monochrome monitor.

HDD contains MS-DOS 5.00 and some word processing junk. A bit anachronistic, so I'd like to reformat it with MS-DOS 3.30 or something more suitable.

The monochrome monitor had some problems, I'm posting a worklog in another thread. :)

Well my LG Nexus 4 arrived on new years eve but I've been too busy faffing around with it and doing other stuff to post, but also there were some things I wanted to buy from the Play Store which were on sale, but I hadnt been paid yet.

Well it is pay day today and luckily the items are still on sale so I picked up some Sega Dreamcast classics rereleased for Android OS - ChuChu Rocket @ £0.90 (which I bought previously, but I made a new email acc so meh), Expendables Rearmed @ £0.99 (formerly known as Millenium Soldier Expendable) and Jet Set Radio @ £1.46.

I already have these games for my Sega Dreamcast collection and I already rebought Jet Set Radio when it launched on Steam last year, but I wanted to experience it again on my 'phone with touch screen controls, or with a PowerA Moga or similar controller when I'm on the move.

You may be pleased to know I also ordered a replacement mouse and a spare backup mouse and keyboard too so I'll be able to swing the ban hammer around a little easier and now that I'll be able to aim I can switch my Battlefield 3 laser sight back to a Heavy Barrel to hand out some morep unishment :p I don't think I'll get them until next week though as I opted for free delivery within 5 working days.

Derp I can't help myself. I just went ahead and rebought Blazing Star @ £0.69 and given as my PlayStation Portable will be retired and/or sold, I also got the Android OS version of Metal Slug @ £1.49 via Google Play store

EDIT: I still can't help myself. I rebought Metal Slug 3 @ £1.49 and got Fruit Ninja @ £0.76 for the first time via Google Play store too...

EDIT: oops I did it again. I have Deadspace and Deadspace 2 on Steam but I haven't got around to playing them yet, but when I do it would be nice to have this app to tie the story between them, so I just bought Dead Space for Android @ £0.74 via Google Play.

Picked this up today from my local comic book store. Was a bit more expensive than online but I like to support the guys who run the store.

    Really nicely made book.

Tinypic rotates the picture for some reason. Can't seem to fix it. Oh well you all have necks.

I couldn't help myself again and bought some more Android OS games from the Google Play store so here goes:

Grand Theft Auto III @ £0.69
    Sonic CD @ £0.73
Super Monkey Ball 2 Sakura Ed @ £0.73
    Sonic 4 Episode I @ £0.73
    Sonic 4 Episode II @ £0.73
    Sonic Jump @ £1.46
    Max Payne Mobile @ £0.69
Final Fantasy @ £2.99 (Believe it or not I've never played this, only really FFVII & VIII, owned FFIX but didn't touch it)
    N.O.V.A. 3 - Near Orbit... @ £0.69

My phone memory is getting pretty low now and being an LG Nexus 4 it isn't expandable, but at least I have a good selection of games to last me until the next new year sales and Nexus 5 release hehe.

In other news I had to format my PC and lost everything, and I mean everything arf! I really need a spare HDD for my shopping list or something, but meh...

I just spent my last £4.99 and got The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition in the Steam Sale.

I already own the first game and I don't have much time for single player games any more so I've never got around to playing it yet but still, it looks like a decent enough game at a decent enough price and I look forwards to playing it in due course.

And sort of game related, I bought a new shelving stand from IKEA for only 1900 yen. Very good price and pretty good quality too.

Yep, very easy. Took about 30 minutes. I also bought 3 "rocking" chairs. So comfortable to sit back in while gaming or watching a movie and they look very modern. I do like IKEA although my dad said their stuff is poor quality. Not true from the stuff I've seen.

surprisingly for Chinese crap its in amazing condition. Not a single mark or scratch on it. The game is by Glory sun and while the new characters are just name swaps of old characters (very lazy) this is not a ROM hack but a whole new build. Very strange thing to do. The game has fake back bars in the game play sections to make it look like the real game but they didn't fit the bottom one right So You can still see the game background below the black line. There are loads of game glitches when the game fades out a screen to a new one. I do have both official MegaDrive street fighter games so I'll do a special for the next Retro Core.

it all depends on the product, some ikea stuff is great, other stuff is poor quality, but for the most part it should be fine

It seems that urusei yatsura clock of mine was modified from an ikea one. Probably replaceable insert but I have no intent to open it to check.
