I just picked up a really nice condition "junk" PS3 CECH 2001A for about $16 USD.

The guy said it would power on and accept games but would not display any kind of image.

Got free shipping by buying some other stuff with it. Tested it. Worked on the first try with HDMI. I think he didn't know how to diagnose the problem and gave up. System has no scratches and is missing just two little foam foot pads. Unreal.

Did well at flea markets and yard sales last weekend for majority of games in second pic. Excited about Crash (had no idea it can go for $40 nowadays, got it for $8 & it's like brand new) since it was first game I ever bought for...and then played to completion with my son.
The Japanese Saturn & Game lot, I was lucky to find a US seller,
so the shipping fee's were nominal.

 

USD 130 shipped! , quite a bargain.

 

The first game is that expensive? I got it at a thrift store last year for less than $5. It's a great game, don't get me wrong, but I never thought it was rare enough to command more than like $15.

Hopefully the bananas weren't from 1991.

It is a game that came out only in Japan and Germany.

Well, they did come in an odd jar with formol or something similar. I'll tell you after I've tried one (if I survive).

 

The first Crash, black, complete and not the greatest hits version lists for 38 to 45 on various game guides and i've seen it between 40-45 on Ebay. Even the greatest hots version has gone for as high as 35. I was shocked because it's not a uncommon game at all. But like some other old games that were mass produced, people just don't seem to part with them. The Mega man's, Contra III etc etc. I've gone to yard sales and flea markets for months and months and this was first crash anything (except CTR greatest hits at goodwill) that i've run across. Warmer weather is already upon us here in California so hopefully those places will become busier with greater chances to score the rest...which none of the rest are anywhere near the first one's prices except the collectors edition that has 3 games in one and seems to go for 40-50. Here's a few of the recent closed auctions, both original and greatest hits.

 

I ran into that problem before. It's common on PS3. He was probably on composite or component. And the PS3 was outputting HDMI which is a separate connector. So he plugged in everything... but no image was showing. It's actually very annoying PS3 does that if you don't have HDMI (bc then you have to do a crazy trick). Basically you have to shut down the system (since you can't see the screen you have to hold the power button till it shuts off), then when you turn it back on you have to hold down the power button for 5 seconds to reset it back to composite or component output.

 

Buddy of mine called yesterday and said he found a few old games while moving. When I got there he said he almost just threw out that "mana game" because he'd never heard of it and didn't think I'd want it. Um, "Only been searching yard sales and flea markets for months for it, since it was the first JRPG I ever played" I told him. He couldn't understand why I was twice excited over that game then the street fighter game. He also gave me a retro duo and a Legend of Kage game. Damn, I hope more of my friends move soon..lol.

Disc has 2002 copyright on it, but game came out in March 2003. Guessed it's worth a shot.

 

Got 4 2600 games in a lot off eBay. Taz, Picnic, Omega Race and Fast Food. I've heard good things about Taz

 

Been waiting to buy the last console I needed to fill my "every console I ever owned" list...Today, was that day. I even got the deluxe set so I could get R.O.B. If I put my Power Glove on R.O.B. would skynet become aware?..lol

 

I found a Gamestop that still has PS2 games, and they're still all 75% off. The cases are all long gone, but 7 games for $11 is a pretty decent deal.


That's DMC2, Astro Boy, 007 Quantum of Solace, MLB Power Pros, Armored Core 3, Guantlet Seven Sorrows and Heavenly Guardian. I haven't heard of about half of these, but worth a shot.

 

Not very many expensive overly collectable PS2 games so glad to get this one.

 

Hell yeah! With free soundtrack CD too.

 

Totally forgot about Raiden V, cool! Wonder how long the Western release will take to be released. Wonder what ever happened to that Shooting Love Trilogy package....

 

Didn't forget about it, however I did wonder the same? When is it out in the west?

I'm a ps4 man so won't be grabbing this anytime soon, however I have a friends with XBOne so I'll be round at their place very soon!!!!
