Can we expect a "Sing song" thread sometime soon. "Sing along to the all time greats with Diddydonn and his well breasted wife..."

Knees up mother brown, knees up mother brown... :noooo:

It's now that you tell us your wife is a classically trained pianist and will be knocking out Rakmaninov and Schostikovich (spelling?)

    anyways, i digress

I purchased a PS2 and a Gamecube that were old display models at Kmart through an employee-only silent auction last year.

    PS2 - $4.01
    GC - $7.00

Maplins Electronics in the UK - selling Seagate HDD cheap!

I just bought an external Seagate 320Gb HDD (FreeAgent) USB style for £59.99 - yep, that's £60.00 for an external 350Gb USB HDD!

They only went on sale this morning, but at this kind of price I suspect it will be a very short promotion. It's quite a sexy looking unit, very simple to set up (took 3mins exactly) and it is silent. Even includes a 5 years warranty!

Ok, I found a CHEAP SCPH-1001 complete in boxed at a Garage sale!! I was going to ask if $12 is a good price but screw it, I'm going back now to get it. These are worth $2,000 or more according to G4!!!

    I snapped a pic: http://img197.imageshack.us/my.php?image=audiophileby1.jpg&tc=img197/5261/psxcollection8il.jpg

I'll bbiab to post pictures of it if people care. But I'll just end up listing it on eBay I thinks. Bidding starting at $100!! muahaha

In a rush...it better still be there

I am with you on this one! There are items on that cloth that need to be rescued now. That is the most fucked up thing I have seen in months. Hopefully the poster has seen the error of his ways, has managed to obtain the lot and is now toasting our good health with a bottle of PSx wine lol (Don't drink it!)

LOL - I think a few of us have our fingers crossed for this guy. Genuinely, I am sitting waiting to hear him back on saying "Look what I got guys!" If he doesn't and comes back with nothing or that silly fucking green boxed PSx lol I will possibly cry myself to sleep tonight as this is just NOT the kind of car boot sale in my area!

I'd gladly give him $12 plus P&P for the black unit lol - infact if I was at that car booty, I'd have bought the telly tubbies and everything else just to thank the seller! :eek:h:

    Consider the alternative scene:

<Car boot sale in the US. On the rug on the floor you see a black 10millionth edition, a bottle of PSx wine and a nice SCPH-1001, plus some other BBC childrens related shit>

Seller: "Everything is marked as is. Make an offer I'm willing to haggle, but I think you'll find the prices reasonable. Considering those old Playstations are worthless now I might even throw in a free tellytubby..."

You: "Well, I was actually going to buy them at the price marked on them, but Sir, I cannot deny I am feeling guilty right now..."

Seller :"Oh? Why is that, they are genuine units and you can't stop me for selling on my own lawn, are you from the IRS? I am up to date with my tax forms and everything....please don't tell my boss I need to sell my own childrens toys to feed them this week!"

You : "...it's just that I know that black unit over there is worth a lot more...."

    Seller : "....how much more?"

    You : "Considerably more...."

Seller : "How much is 'considerably'?"

You : "It is a rare 10millionth edition, and I...."

Seller : "Look, just answer the god damned question! HOW MUCH?"

    You : "A lot...."

Seller : "Okay, nice meeting you, eBay here we come, don't touch a fucking thing, you are on my land, I mean it I will shoot...damn it I told you <bang, bang, bang!>"

Hey, I think I watch too much Simpsons

You know you`re watching it on channel 4 now, I wouldnt feel that bad but i reckon the fact i would have a brown pile by my feet and have a funny smell coming off me would indicate to the seller i was pretty interested and jack up the price. I`m actually god at haggling but i would be shaking trying to get this.

sounds like the time i missed out on a ps1 blue devkit at a school fair a few months ago for £5,, pretty sure it had some dev games with it, i saw it, thought noo it cant be, haggled a bit, realised my wife had got my wallet, went to find her, got it back, went back and it had gone, i cried like a big girl that night!

Now theres the problem haggling on something you know is worth it can be trouble, i know you didnt have your wallet which was the real problem but it can be a nightmare. My mate was haggling for this antique china and he knew it was a complete steal, he hesitated and started to haggle and this woman came up and goes i`ll give you x amount and the seller took it. My mate was gutted.

huh? That black box was a ps2 I thought. The wine was ps2 but he wanted $30 for it so I said screw it. Anyhow, the playstation was gone when I got back as well as the black boxed ps2. I'm a little sad because that first run playstation is supposed to be worth a lot to audiophiles.

The back box was a ps2 right? It sold for $25, more than double what he wanted for the playstation. He said it was like new too. But I saw the old playstation and focused on that because on ebay there go for a lot. :(

There was an article about the scph100x models made by Parris recently, they were saying that the audio outputted could be compared to high end cd players (often costing $5000 or more). This is where the rumour started that psx`s could be worth that much, in reality i think you would be hard pushed to get $50 for one unless you found the right buyer (someone ill informed) The black playstation appeared to be japanese 10 million model playstation, a very very rare limited edition.
