Yeah. I've seen it in action, functions rather well, but what about sound. Headphones?
My livingroom TV is 3D capable, but don't think it has the dual play function.

My friend calls me late last night and asks me if I could tranfer his xbox 360 data to his new console, so I go over..tranfer his profile, saves, dlc and do a licence transfer.

Whilst I'm doing this I notice he's bought the exact same slim he already has, when I asked him why he bought a new xbox he said "The old ones started making a weird humming noise can't you hear it?" Confused I carry on, when I'm done we have a drink and a few games of Injustice when I make my excuses and get up to leave...when I open the door my friend says "throw this in bin on your way out mate" and gives me the perfectly functional 360 slim and power supply, I asked if I could have it instead and he says "sure do what ya want its fucked anyway", SCORE!! Lol

I was thinking the same thing, had a quick look at it this morning and the noise is coming from the power supply not the console...do the slim power supply's have a fan inside?

no, no fan inside a slim powersupply.
BUT i´ve heard, that some of the slims´ powersupply´s have this issue...

So better you buy a new one - maybe this one is going to die...
it also looks very dirty - maybe cleaning (in and out) will help a bit...

The slim 360 PSU does indeed have a fan inside it (at least my european one does). Mine was defective and had a very very annoying sound from the fan in it out of the box, but MS refused to replace it as it was still functional. Ended up buying a new one (the third and the smallest version of fat 360 PSUs, just as quiet as the slim PSU, with a fat->slim PSU adapter).

    On topic, let's see,

I've rescued plenty of crap I've found in various recycling stations etc:
    - An NES and controllers and cables, all in working order, except the bad connector
    - An SNES, worked great but was very yellow. There was something unusual about it, don't remember what, I think it was a german or french model or something (i'm in sweden) which could use a gamecube RGB cable without adding caps to the cable or something like that.

    And non-gaming...
    - A 24" LED full-HD monitor, was dead due to firmware bug, updated the firmware and worked perfectly

WORST thing was a while ago, I saw an iMac in the e-waste bin. Of course probably broken somehow, but on the surface it seemed to be in pretty good condition. Didn't bother picking it up as I didn't know if it was worth anything. Noted the model and went straight home to look up its value and noticed that it indeed was only a few years old and would probably be worth quite a bit. When I got back to pick it up, someone else had already rescued it... :(

I've been using it for maybe a year or so. The one I got feels alright, nothing loose or so. I don't think there's much that can go wrong... there's no electronics in it or so, I'm pretty sure the only thing that changed between fat and slim is the shape of the connector (it's just 12V, "detect" or whatever, and grounds). Since all fat PSUs provide more power (150, 175 or 203W) than the slim does (135W), any fat PSU can be used with this adapter.

Recently bought a Dreamcast with Sega Rally, a controller and RF unit, all MINT condition from a boot/jumble sale, for £6 (US$9.22)

EDIT: Just remembered, i got a Sega Saturn with about 10 games for free from a work colleague a while back. Bought him a small case of beer to say thanks ;D So whole cost in reality was around £11/US$17.

I can't think about what good deals I might have had... unbelievable? Maybe the only one was a Genesis lot I won on Ebay for ~$20 (Shipped) which had fully functional HD Model 1 Genesis with a bunch of sports games that no one likes or wants. But hidden in one of the pictures was a Sega CD RAM cart! And when it showed up, it came with Sega CD plates and the composite connector. That or maybe a time I got a full working LaserDisc player from Ebay for $10.

Followed up on a craigslist ad recently to purchase an Xbox 360 kiosk....when I get there and ask if he has any more video games/related items--he takes me into a small office room with a TON of stuff in it--including a World Championships certificate, hat, VIP pass, medal, etc. He's been in the gaming industry for 30 years--owns the rights to the CD-i, was involved with the development of Animal Crossing--it goes on and on. He ended up giving me a ton of big store signage, a VS. Mario arcade chip kit, glass piece for the top of the cab, some random memorabilia and sends me on my way--extremely happy. Apparently, some time ago he was featured in Tips & Tricks magazine. An older couple saw it--and bought his entire collection for 100k+ for their grandchild. Crazy! This wasn't the best deal I've ever snagged, but it was one of the most interesting :friendly_wink:

I love store signage! When a local gaming store was going out of business, I went there to see what they had. I found a couple of games, but they still had all the signage up. Including a giant PS3 plastic banner thing that used the spider-man font. I ask them "is absolutely everything for sale?" and they says yes. and I say "How much for that giant PS3 sign?" They did not expect someone to buy those I guess. It took them 20 minutes to figure out how much to sell it for, $12! It barely fit in my car, but now its on my wall.

Wow--nice score on the PS3 sign! I got one each of big Gamecube & Xbox signs, and 2-3 PS2 signs...in between them were a handful of small Xbox, Gamecube and PS2 signs to boot. I just need more wall space to hang it all up :)

The other signage score I got was about a year ago...at a Gamestop. I talked to the DM, and she said they had some bigger pieces I could take with her blessings, since the neighborhood they were located in would boycott the store if she didn't recycle them. She ended up giving me 2 Wii kiosks, a ps2 slim kiosk, 2 ps3 kiosks, and a giant thin aluminum gamecube sign. There is no doubt that was my biggest "free" score ever!

Okay, so last weekend I was out and about at a lot of yard sales looking around for some games and books... maybe a dvd or two. After searching for something good all day I hit this one guys house. Games everywhere: Earthbound, lufia 2 chrono trigger. All CIB. Only thing was He had his laptop out with e-bay opened up. I ask him how much the chrono trigger? He asks "How do you spell that now?" I told never mind. I over hear him spit out expensive prices for cheap common games like mario bros/duck and that. Now to real good part. He has a stack of Gold Zelda NES carts and a Gold OoT cart. Asked him how much for the gold zelda
"Eh I got a lot those, $5 sound good?"
Walked off with a loose Zelda OoT collectors edition for $5 from a fee-bay seller. That's What I call funny.

Recently got a beta disc for MediEvil 2, but it came in this case:

Is this a standard case, a non-standard, or some fake one the seller made for storage purposes? If it's fake, it's a very good one.
