I actually managed to get a new sealed Halo3 Xbox 360 replacement harddrive
Got the green Halo3 box (the big one) at a thrift store a long time ago, but it was mising its original HD. Just out of sheer luck one popped up in the small ads, grabbed it new and sealed and all for 20 Euros. Finally my box is complete!

 

I just picked up Killer Bees for the Magnavox Odyssey 2 for 4 dollars. I'm very happy with that purchase.

 

got gears 3 epic edition sealed new for 12.99$ the other day. not a bad deal

 

Got Metal Gear Rising for PS3 new and sealed for "free."

As a reward for taking some market surveys.

Six months ago I got Borderlands 2 Limited Edition and a DUALSHOCK 3 the same way

Of course you need to invest a little time in actually taking them, but well worth it IMO.

 

Android based stuff is getting cheaper. building an Android laptop for around $120 and that includes use of the latest quad core chip too.

 

where do you find these actually rewarding surveys?

this reminds me, I once traded one Bud Light bottle for a RRoD Xenon 360, which I then fixed and flashed and now use as my primary xbox ...just sad it was too far updated to JTAG

 

XRGB-Mini Framemeister (Gently Used) -- found on craigslist for $157~ (Shipped). Set it up today and absolutely love it. Now I'm just waiting for my SCART cables to get here so that I can play my neo geo in pure RGB.

 

Got a PSP-1000 for £10 (Technically £5 as the other bit wasn't my money ) that was branded as 'broken' with a charger- apparently the screen was cracked and the UMD drive was broken. Turns it out it works 100% and it's only the housing that was cracked- and the UMD drive slot only needed refitting as it was out of place! Would have been cheaper if not that he didn't bring it in for like..ages.

Probably the worst opposite to this was when I was young I got a Dreamcast with around 10 games for free off a relative. I didn't have a clue how to use it, so it was given away to a charity shop by my mother. Kill me. Now.

 

Picked up this bundle a couple months back for £16.60 after the seller had it listed as a Saga Dreamcast, was happy with the purchase.

Grabbed all of this up for $10 at a garage sale today.

 

Maybe it's not a great story, but about a month or so ago, I went into a thrift ship I don't usually frequent on a lark. Not only is there a famiclone (which I don't buy, but still, cool, I guess) but I found a Pikachu N64 with the power adapter for $10. Throw in a $2 controller and new AV cables and I got a working limited edition N64 for $20.

 

Just got an atari 520 ST computer box, screen, disc drive in box, a commodore 64 and disc drive, all for free

 

Got a Joyride Studios Luigi's Mansion figure for a dollar today.
