So much for seeing some gameplay. Some monsters or something came in and did something. Now we need a better system? Feel like he's going to pull a some kind of dev system. Also end of season cliff hanger.
Mr. Stamper is enjoying himself in teasing us, just a little too much. I knew it! I knew that he needed to use another console to fire up the cartridge!
If "EndOfSeasonCliffhanger" means what I think it does (i.e. a long break on this whole thing), I'm just fucking done at this point. It's already been two months.
https://twitter.com/InTimsWorld/status/627831544007290880 Is a Dinosaur Planet cart going to pop out of that bread? Almost wouldn't put it past him to actually bake it in....
All the dinosaur references could have something to do with Dinosaur Planet, but of course it would be 6 months of bullshit and teasing before we saw *Gasp!* a picture of a never before seen level! Then a Gremlin or a freakin Troll would come and grab it and, oh well, I guess they stole the cart forever.
I feel sorry for you, you all wait with the hope that something will show you... and here such child's play. This person is another type of "goromacida". I may be wrong, but from what I can see there is no difference in behavior.
Hugest difference here is who we're talking about. This is a respected member of the industry. He likely is just having his fun not aware of how much it angers some. He has no idea about prototype teasing that has been gone through numerous times in the past on community forums, all that RE1.5 stuff being the prime example. We'll get something eventually, I hope. In the meantime, I've got enough to occupy myself with.
Yeah, I don't think he cares to be honest - he's just having a bit of fun. It's not like it's a great strain to click on a link and see if there's an update (or not) At least he's doing something - would you prefer nothing at all? Let him roll with it... patience is a virtue. (which kind of makes Mr. Stamper the most virtuous man on the god damned planet given the way he's dragged this out! But I digress...)
Mr. Stamper's having fun with his teasing, and he's expecting us to lighten up about it and laugh with him. Nothing really harmful.
No, not actually harmful, and it's certainly nice that there's hope to see some footage eventually. He's definitely dragging it out sadistically long though. Seriously, we're almost two months in and all we've seen is a title screen, which is literally just the word "Dream." Why end the "season" there? Why not give us a photo with some scrap of significance before leaving us hanging? Why not a vague screenshot of the gameplay, let us dream up of crazy things that could be beyond the borders of that photo. We could be making guesses with that photo as to how they implemented the whole RPG aspect, or how the game would have actually played out. But we can't, at least not any better than 18 or whatever years ago, since we still don't have a single glimpse of anything new to go off of. I dunno, that may just be me. He could have done things slightly differently if he didn't want people getting a little annoyed.
Honestly if you read on the history of Rareware the Stampers were notorious back in the 80's for this kind of behavior pulling outlandish pranks or doing teasing not to show anything in the end. Plus I would imagine it might possibly be a legal issue with Microsoft or Nintendo.
Had my time to watch it already, and man... Just think how things could have been. Spoiler One day we'll get the Dream cart. One day.
Thought it was really cool to see the graphical iterations they went through, and how they finally ended up with a very Super Mario 64-style camera system. I hope they continue to do behind the scenes videos- I want to see more!
