Well the good news is the first day of community service didn't go too bad. Was quite nice. They had asked the routine questions, but when they heard this all stemmed from a video game they gave me a look of "you're joking right?". Aside from that it was nice to get out of the house and help out.
Other. They have chosen to have me work the hours off at an outdoor program thing, but I'm handling the office side of it. Today was essentially their meeting day and they just wanted me to get a feel of whats expected, what I'm to do, and all that jazz. I have a todo list that I'm working on right now in fact. Most of my serving will be in their tech area where they deem fit.
Well here's an update for anyone who is wondering. Since January when the case had (finally) been closed, I have been eagerly awaiting my property return. Today (June 22nd) I got that stuff back and while the cases may be a tad more beatup than I remember, I at least have a moment to relax. In regards to the reason it was returned, I had emailed the district attorney general and special agent assigned to my case to figure out what is going on. I got some very swift emails in response regarding this (and a little sass for emailing them and not my lawyer doing so). It appears that there was a lot going on in general with DOJ and while delays were present it all boiled back down to my lawyer. My lawyer was supposed to write the court order to get my property returned, of which he did not do (and we have had 0 contact from him since January on top of this). Since my case was closed, I got my sentence, and everything was still up to the attorney general, he personally requested that the agent assigned to the forensics of this make the court order himself last week. So now that I've had time to learn from my choices I figured I'd at least say what good came of this mess. 1) I learned not to leak things. Copyright is copyright, those who aren't authorized to handle look at or discuss such things should not. 2) Cooperation with law enforcement is a double-edged sword. Speaking can be used against you, even if it was benign. While it kicked my ass in the end, it made processing things and understanding a lot quicker. 3) How you present yourself to law says a lot more than your words. They realized very fast that I am not the most mentally normal person they were dealing with. 4) Community service has gotten me outside, and I have started to apply myself a little more than previously. 5) I've met some friendly faces in the DOJ, many who have been willing to be kind to me even if their job doesn't require it. Never did I expect this to happen. 6) I've taken steps to prevent this from happening again. Understanding my mistakes and correcting them for the future will certainly be something I wont forget. 7) I got a part time job and some community service at a place to help others, not something like picking trash off the highways (which does need to be done btw). 8) Messing up is expensive... Very expensive. Since the seizure I have been a lot more appreciative of what I have for money and possessions. Before it was stuff that can be replaced. Now it's irreplaceable. As for any links of mine that are currently active, I am not sure as to what I'll do with them. I've considered taking them down (firmware archives, builds, etc), but I have not gotten there yet. I'll figure it out in due time, but do know that it might not be available in the near future. Also for the sake of anything, if you have login info you cant remember, then make a paper copy if you can. Couldn't remember 2 logins for the life of me and it was on a text file on the seized system so I couldn't do a thing until I got it back. Still kicking myself for at least not saving it to something else.
i mean come on guys... you guys have seen the articles on me,xenon, aamonkey, and natexl. if you have stuff thats not yours you will get pwned. point blank. pixelbutts youre lucky they didnt give you prison time like they did with us. as for DaE he is a scumbag. he would rather let his mom take a fall for him than to man up and do his time. i dont own any electronics besides this laptop that the federal government allows me to own. i just come on here to see some of the mind blowing comments and questions that are posted by people. i mean seriously most of this stuff is comon sense.
You also have to understand we live in a day where telemetry exists, so even in the most secure capacity it will be known to someone what you have. I am quite lucky about my position about jail time. Had I done anything different I would be there right now. You also have to understand that I do have judgment issues as I'm not mentally the most stable or "normal" person out there. I dont believe I have actually unless this was related to the SuperDae stuff. Could you share an article for me? Almost everything that happened in PS3/360 scenes I entirely missed due to only getting into it around 2014 (both PS3 and 360 systems I first got that summer, I haven't been around long)
