    Hello.

    Laissez donc notre ami kHn travailler tranquillement son "bébé". Il doit être serein pour l'améliorer même s'il ne sera jamais parfait.

    Wait & See ...

    @krHACKen

    I would like to add a tool I developed to this thread. Its called PSXVCD. It automates the dozens of steps needed to convert a file to VCD format that is required by POPSTARTER.

    How do I go about adding the tool to this list of programs? It can be downloaded from PS2 HOME - http://www.ps2-home.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2895
    • You can add multiple files in almost any format I have found whilst doing this (.zip, .7z, .rar, .ecm, .bin, .cue).
    • Then simply choose how you will be playing these games (via USB, Internal HDD or over SMB) and the program will rename and store the final VCD and ELF file in the correct format and location.
    • All unzipping and decompressing is done automatically.
    • This tool will also fix the issue where games have multiple bin/cue tracks by merging them into one track. This means the game audio is not lost on games like Tekken.
    • Once done all you need to do is transfer the files to your PS2 or USB.
    • If you are using OPL you can use this tool to generate a conf_elm.cfg file that can be used to play PS1 games directly from OPL.

    Merci à vous, vous avez fait du très bon travail. Je "suppose" que kHn (krHACKen) sera d'accord avec moi.

    Merci encore et à bientôt.

    Très cordialement.

    PS : désolé pour le Français, je n'ai aucune confiance aux traducteurs automatiques (Google, etc …).

    Vou explicar melhor: Quando o servidor muda o IP do meu PC, o POPStarter também não vai localizar o meu PC, então, eu tenho que usar o comando ipconfig, verificar o número do IP e editar o arquivo “SMBCONFIG.DAT” dentro do memorycard, neste caso, é a mesma coisa do arquivo dentro da pasta compartilhada. :)

    I will explain better: When the server changes the IP of my PC, POPStarter will also not find my PC, so I have to use the ipconfig command, check the IP number and edit the file “SMBCONFIG.DAT” inside the Memorycard, in this case, is the same as the file inside the shared folder. :)

    Eu não uso IP estático. :)

    I do not use static IP. :)

    @krHACKen is it possible to get popstarter to read CDDA data from games like tomb raider?

    I have ripped the game to a single bin file but the background audio (cdda tracks) do not play ?

    According to compatibility lists " Music absent, sound effects present. " As far as I know, this is true for the entire Tomb Raider series. CDDA works for other games.

    Thanks for the youtube plays of an insane number of games. Hopefully you enjoyed some of the time invested in that project. Sometimes it appears that it takes some time playing to determine true compatibility and quirks.
    Regarding your request for DHCP compatibility, I think it would require that DNS resolution be built into popstarter. If that doesn't happen and you have access to modify settings in your router, you can still use DHCP to hand out ip addresses from your router, but specify that a never-changing ip address be given to a specific mac address (network adapter hardware address). This might be the workaround you are looking for. Love your work/play with youtube!

    Thanks for the confirmation. I wonder why it doesn't work for TR2 but does for other games ? How strange. I kind of see it as a challenge to get this working but perhaps I am wasting my time ? Lol

    Can someone confirm that with latest BETA (POPStarter Revision 13, WIP 06, OBT 17 from 2017/01/28),
    when I add "$HDTVFIX" to "CHEATS.TXT" and start POPStarter without any folder for VMC (eg TOMB RAIDER),
    the display do not switch to 576i. It "stays" with 288p.
    When I run POPStarter 2nd time (after creating VMC folder) everything is fine (i'm getting 576i).

    Latest POPStarter PROTO (i use it with SMB because ds3 drivers not work in usb mode)
    MODULE_0.IRX (USBD which i pull out from OPL)
    MODULE_1.IRX (ds3usb from my compiled opl)
    MODULE_5.IRX (usb_pademu from my compiled opl)
    yesterday all works fine except a analog mode (i get controller working only in digital mode)
    today i tried drivers which i take out from the latest opl db 1004 using hex, and after that cant get working ds3
    i tried my drivers but without success. in debug texts i see loading of modules 0 and 1 but not 5 i also compared all drivers md5's popstarter.elf's there is no errors, controller works fine on pc and ps3

    Il semblerait que les drivers pour la DS3 ne soient pas encore fonctionnels dans POPStarter, j'en ai fait les tests préliminaires et rien ne fonctionnait chez moi (il y a presque 1 mois). La DS3 a été connectée en USB ou en USB/BT.
    J'ai fait le compte-rendu de mes tests à krHACKen lui-même (il est mon ami).

    I and other people can´t get POPS to run under OPL with NAS.
    There is somewhere a limitation of the cfg´s.
    e.g:
    My NAS-share is named "mynas". On my PC it looks "/fritz.nas/mynas".
    In this folder i have the "POPS" folder with the needed files (SB.game.ELF, game.VCD, POPS_IOX.PAK)
    In OPL the share is set to "mynas", but i have to set the "ETH-Prefix-Path" to "mynas" too, otherwise the game-list is not shown.

    My SMBCONFIG.DAT looks:
    192.10.30.90 mynas
    user
    pass

    It hangs in "smb0:/mynas/POPS/POPS_IOX.PAK" Not Found!

    I tried many with the cfg´s, but only the above starts the emu and stops on "Not Found!", if i try to set shares in SMBCONFIG.DAT like "192.10.30.90 fritz.nas/mynas" SMB fails error occours...

    Any solution to run over NAS??

    @LopoTRI

    SB.game.ELF should be in your OPL APPS folder on your NAS, not in the POPS folder. OPL is going to look there for any applications to run. This isn't the problem here though, as you've obviously run the program.
    I presume your mc0:\POPSTARTER folder contains IPCONFIG.DAT, SMBCONFIG.DAT, and the .irx files.

    @LopoTRI what version of POPStarter did you tried (I hope not the latest prototype)?
    Did you tried to copy "SB.game.ELF" on your MC or usb device and run it thru uLe?

    @deba5er
    I use not the official OPL version, i use the version from http://www.ps2-home.com with "ELF-Loader menu", so my ELF´s are specified in "conf_elm.cfg" where they are...
    And yes, i have all files and cfg´s correct, i´m not a beginner ;)
    And cause POPS didn´t find the NAS-share, its a problem of POPS and not from OPL, i didn´t wrote all to keep short....:cool:

    @Jolek
    No not the latest Proto. But "Beta 17 : POPStarter_r13_WIP_06_OBT_20170128"
    Run thru uLE or OPL with smb on PC or with ps2client works all fine.
    i mean specially over NAS cause a member had problems and then i tried it and saw what he mean, cause i have the same problems to run it over NAS....:(

    Hi
    For using OPL pademu modules in POPStarter you need compile opl without VMC and remove -DUSE_SMSUTILS from pademu Makefile (option added in new commit). You should load only USBD and usb_pademu or bt_pademu modules (ds3usb/ds3bt modules are only for OPL gui). My new commit should fix also analog mode. In attachment I've added precompiled modules ready to use in POPStarter. Pad mode changes by pressing PS+SELECT.

    i didnt know that the ds3usb/ds3bt not needed :D thank for info
    so i tried your usb_pademu as MODULE_5 with USBD from this opl https://github.com/ifcaro/Open-PS2-Loader
    it works with BETA 17 but flashing 2 3 and 4 light in digital mode, after changing mode (PS+SELECT) all goes ok, 1 light flashing (like charging)
    there is a bug but not critical, it lost connection after 1 or 2 unpluging usb from ds3
    yeah i forgot, it not work with PROTO version, just freezes on the latest debug screen on MODULE_5 text

    usb_pademu which i used from normally compiled opl https://github.com/ifcaro/Open-PS2-Loader (without any manipulating with files before compile)
    not have problem with connection lost but work only in digital mode
    im not programmer) but want to look src of your compiled pademu, can you upload it?

    It flashing because it's charging. Leds are showing in which mode pad is operating. If led indicating emulated port is off and rest of them are on that mean it is in digital mode, only one is on - analog mode. You right I've got same result with disconnecting usb ds3. Thanks for reporting this. I will check what's wrong.
