[PS2] POPS stuff & POPStarter

    Sorry but not, as i said the games works just as before in previous versions, ESPN Extreme
    as bad SFX and after a long time of playing the SFX and the music mutes due to the bad
    SFX, just i described the games which i tested them now with savegames.

    Well, other user is who are playing the MGS game give me the save, and the one
    for Castlevania SOTN i take it from Gamefaqs, then i introduced the saves in the
    VMC using the program MemcardRex 1.6.

    Like MGS, there is another game which have a freeze (at end of first episode) which you
    can play it fine using a savegame with all the game unloked, its the game
    Hokuto no Ken: Seiki Matsukyu Seishi Densetsu (NTSC-J).

    POPStarter Revision 12

    Thank you all for your feedbacks. Very much appreciated.

    So, as CUE2POPS 2 looks functional and I've got the green light from POPStarter 12 testers...

    The POPStarter Revision 12 package link has been posted in Pastie #7937017

    I prefer to wait for your feedbacks before I spam file hosting services with the zip.

    The file destinations didn't change. When replacing the previous revision with the current revision 12, don't forget to replace all files. If file versions don't match (example : r11 EXECUTE.ELF with r12 LAUNCHER.ELF), you'll get an error message.
    A "No Debug" build is included for those who don't want to see bullcrap texts of the container. That "No Debug" build does not let you know the cause of an error and executes the irritating TESTMODE (vertical lines and a horrible beeeeeeep) if one is encountered; so it is not newbie-friendly.
    The included CUE2POPS version is v2.0.

    SCPH-5000x users, please let me know whether you could run your games without having to press the power button or inserting a disc.
    Also, none of the testers had a V0 with $ony's Kernel fix. I'd be interested in knowing if the emulator execution goes fine.

    I've just tested it and is working fine on my SCPH-50001 (tested with the launcher and via HDD OSD, both nodebug and normal versions).

    It tested again this games with the POPStarter Revision 12 using EXECUTE.ELF of
    no debug version:

    ESPN Extreme Games (NTSC-U)
    Lomax (PAL)
    Castlevania SOTN (PAL & NTSC-J)
    Metal Gear Solid (PAL)

    Worked with the same result as previous versions, i not encountered any new bug,

    i tryd the no-debug version on my 50k unit, it works great!
    i can even now use igr and launch uLe after it without problems! didnt worked before, would freeze.

    thanks for these fixes, dose it also work on 10k units? because i get one soon. still need a hdd(+pc-card) though...

    I could get rev12 perfectly working krHACKen. Tested the NO DEBUG version of EXECUTE.ELF & LAUNCHER.ELF,
    from mass or MC, launched from both OPL & FMCB menu, with DVD in the drive or not, without any issue.

    Hello I tested "Resident Evil Director's Cut", the problem lock in some dialogs and disappearance of speech still permacem. At the end of the game, before facing the TYRANT for the first time during the dialogue with Wesker there is a huge delay in this scene.


    "Tomb Raider 3" is running without crashes far played, but the LARA and some scene objects are shadows.

    "Parasite Eve 2", version 11 and version 12 hangs in sa SQUARE logo

    All games are USA.

    Hi krHACKen,

    i encountered anything wrong with popstarter, seems he breaked some compatibility compared
    with pops-00001, there are two games which have missing the texts on it, and are show
    correctly in pops-00001.

    For the game Image Fight & X-Multiply (SLPS-01267) there are missing the texts in main menu and
    options menu, but also is missing a sound voice in the logo of Xing Entertainment which works
    in pops-00001.

    In the game AirGrave (SLPS-00559) are missing the texts where the characters are talking about
    the history:

    I renamed also the VCD images of popstarter to the format of pops-00001 and the texts/voice
    worked fine with pops-00001, then seems is not a problem related to the games or the
    cue2pops, but to the popstarter itself.

    Thanks for the report and the screencaps. Did you use the same BIOS with POPS-00001 and POPStarter ?

    Yes, i used the default built-in BIOS which have both of them pops-00001 and popstarter.

    But wait a moment, i tested now the BIOS of psp 6.60 with popstarter and now the
    texts and voice works, then seems is there anything broken in the built-in BIOS of
    the popstarter.

    Oh, so it looks like the "OSD removal" of the built-in BIOS somehow ruined the compatibility of that game.
    Thank you for your tests:encouragement:.
    I'm gonna check out this BIOS issue closer.

    i noted something similar on team unei simulation 96 and 97 booth have no text at all, so unplayable.

    I've just found a minor bug in CUE2POPS, when using the following badly formatted CUE :
    CUE2POPS was supposed to display an error message like "Error: The cue sheet is not valid" (as the cue syntax is not correct), but it didn't. It has just crashed/exit:concern:.

    If CUE2POPS cannot proceed in converting your game and does not show an error message, please verify the contents of your cue sheet.
    In the case I've mentioned above, TRACK & INDEX numbers are incorrect. Should be TRACK 01 instead of TRACK 1 and INDEX 01 instead of INDEX 1.

    The README says :
    ... but apparently CUE2POPS fails at failing:nightmare:.

    I've fixed the text problem of "Image Fight & X-Multiply" (SLPS-01267). The Xing intro is still muted. Booting CodeBreaker as OSD replacement enables the sound, so I guess I'll have to write some pseudo OSD code for booting POPS...

    Figured I would report tried different ways to get this to work and all fail on my 50001 no lockup like before but getting Dnas error
