    Short answer: No.

Detailed answer: It's only possible to run the Popstart.elf off SMB by using OPL (which is pointless), but not the game itself. Who knows in a future Pops revision.

That has nothing to do with playing games from network. It's about the Delcro's USB patch along with the ancient POPS-00001 which required a network cable plugged so that the emulator could work.

It's working perfectly for every PS2 consoles, even on a PS2 slim 90001. What have you done wrong? You could
manually edit it using a text editor then set the correct file path for your games. Pls
look for OPL tutorial on how to do this properly.

OPL works by modifying the system behavior (IOP and EE kernels) in ways that will certainly break the POPS emulator. OPL hooks restart/reset handlers and replace CDVDMAN/CDVDFSV/CDVDSTM modules with it's own modules which access the HDD.

POPS don't usually use these because it's coded to prefer using a file on the HDD as image source so it will be using DEV9.IRX/ATAD.IRX/PS2HDD.IRX/PSF.IRX drivers, which OPL BLOCKS from loading BY DESIGN. (to block conflicts from SONY drivers with the HDD access)

So you won't get anything but a nice black screen out of it. :)

Hope I read you wrong and you just mean using OPL ELF launcher feature to start pops.

My problem is that pops elf files are not showing on opl, already changed apps to auto mode, and nothing.

My conf_apps.cfg txt file is: Rayman=mass:/POPS/XX.Rayman.ELF

Put it into the opl partition of memory card, doesnt show

Is there anything wrong on my conf_apps.cfg file?

I never used OPL as a launching app for elfs. But I know some stuff changed in the GUI code recently and you might need to place the elfs on the +OPL partition... I am not sure though. I don't even have a +OPL partition on my stuff.

And because of that OPL stopped saving it's game settings for me ... :\

If opl is not saving game setting, simply delete the actual settings from opl partition of memory card, and configure all then again

Also, what is this ''+ opl'' partition? do i have to create one?

+OPL is for HDD users. Store artwork and game settings.

"create usb path" and "create eth path" do the same, but for USB and network modes respectively. I don't trust giving the PS2 write access to my network shares so I won't be ever using that feature anyway.

+OPL is meant for PS2 FAT with internal HDD only.

Concerning your issue with APPS on OPL, make sure your config file is really conf_apps.cfg instead conf_apps.cfg.txt (Windows by default does not show known extension files).

Disable "Hide extensions for known file types" at the view tab of folder options at Windows explorer. That will allow you to rename extensions (change file types).

I said that because a counterpart of "+OPL"exists for each mode. And I already mentioned what was the point of the options he listed before he edited his post was to create that on USB and network modes respectively.

    Ah, Windows. :p

Another way, you could simply use a better text editor, for example Notepad++: http://notepad-plus-plus.org/

All right. I wrote that minutes after you, I haven't seen your post. ;)

    It worked! thanx :)

I will add more info, for another case i found:

In internet, there are rounding some conf_apps.cfg files that arent text files, but that are already configured to work with a specific list of psx games, for adding more games you need to edit the file, for editing click on: ''open with'', then select any text editor you have and add the stretch of the game you want, thats all

Hi all! Some testing on the Tomb Raider games.

    Configuration as follows:

Using POPStarter Revision 13, WIP 02 on a PAL PS2: SCPH-77003, launching ELF from uLaunchELF

3.5 inch External HDD connected via USB

    Tomb Raider Tests
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Tomb Raider [SLUS-00152] Gameplay good, CDDA Music MISSING
Tomb Raider 2 [SLUS-00437] Gameplay good, CDDA Music MISSING

Have used PATCH_1 to PATCH_5 and NO CHANGE, music still missing.

Tomb Raider 3: Adventures Of Lara Croft [SLUS-00691] Gameplay good, Graphic errors: Black Lara (textures missing)
Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revelation [SLUS-00885] Gameplay good, Graphic errors: Black Lara (textures missing)
Tomb Raider 5: Chronicles [SLUS-01311] Gameplay good, Graphic errors: Black Lara (textures missing)

Have used PATCH_1 to PATCH_5 and NO CHANGE. Black Lara still exists.

Has anyone been able to find a working PATCH Combination to allow CDDA Music in Tomb Raiders 1 and 2, and managed to correct the graphic error of the Black Lara in Tomb Raiders 3,4 and 5?

    Many thanks.

    @ "Junebug"

The problems you are having with the series of "Lara Croft" are identical to those games in PAL mode. This is due to the emulator "POPS" and its mode of operation. For the lack of texture, it also exists with "Gran Turismo - 2". This is difficult or impossible to correct.

If you try other games can you get in list "HDD" or "USB" using the entry form. I thank you in advance.

    Thank you for your reports.

    Kind regards.

Parapa the Rapper works fine, at least the PAL version,
maybe you have a bad dump of the game.

    Regards.

The last few posts of this thread have required a fair bit of moderation due to double posting.

As a general rule, if nobody has replied to your post within a week, edit the post rather than posting again.

I appreciate this is a long thread and there's a lot to reply to in it, often requiring several quotes. Please ensure you use the multi-quote button on the posts you want to quote - it's the speech bubble icon next to reply. Then, you'll quote the posts and make a nice, neat reply and help to keep the thread tidy.

    Thanks! :)
