    Thanks for your supply. Yeah, the file PFS_WRAP.BIN is present on POPS folder. If you can send me an ELF version in verbose mode, I would appreciate it. Is it writing something into HDD or is it showing information on TV?

    Now I can list you my tested Games:

    SLES_03120 - 3, 2, 1 Smurfs! [works very well!] with PATCH_4 and BIOS 7502
    SLES_01749 - The Smurf [works well, I've a problem with audio tracks, but it is my issue] with PATCH_4 and BIOS 7502
    SLPS_01689 - Advan Racing [works well] with PATCH_4 and Standard BIOS

    These are the games FOR NOW I've tested.

    But where can I find PSP Bios 6.60?

    I have something kind of interesting to report. I tried this out with some light gun games, fully expecting the guncon to not work. I first tried point blank (PAL) and to my surprise the ps2 recognised that the controller attached was a guncon, recognised the button inputs including the trigger but did not register where on the screen the gun was firing. Yes, this was a CRT TV, so that was not the issue. A matter of "so close yet so far", it seems. I then tried ghoul panic (PAL) and found that it did not work at all - the console put up the crosshairs as if a normal controller was plugged in. The thing about this, however, is that the game also ran a bit glitchy - perhaps the two are related? For the record, both of these games work as intended with the physical disks.

    I have yet to try any other light gun games, but will try out time crisis and the other games in the point blank series. I'm also thinking about trying NTSC versions to see if that makes a difference. Will report back if anything interesting happens. In the mean time, I'm guessing guncon functionality would have to be patched in, but would also be way down on the priority list. Are there any programs that will play ps1 light games off of usb or internal hdd with guncon compatibility?

    Hello IronCan.

    A bientôt.

    Algol.

After talking to some very serious hackers (krHACKen and AKuHACK) I was told that the problem does not come from POPStarter but how "POPS" manages the controllers in general (2 only). It must be completely disassembled for POPS hacker and include this functionality. It is a long process, a lot of work.

    For your "GunCon" Namco I suppose, it must have the same worries. Good luck and good waiting you.

    See you soon.

    In fact there is a way how to make possible some special devices to be working with pops First: your devices have to be compatible with ps2. For example our light gun have to work in some ps2 games with light gun support Next: you have to get copy of such a game and look inside it for IRX files (and sometimes ioprp images). You have to extract those irx files that are responsible for your special device (e.g. light gun). Just take those files and places them in pops folder with names module_1.irx, module_2.irx... After all of such manipulation you have to get your devices recognized properly by pops. BUT! But there is very BIG possibilty that POPS pad emuation isnt so proper for emulating all special device functions. For example in multitap is working only 2 first pads :) But at least you will be sure that you make all steps. Sometimes device isnt recognized at all - that means that your irx file isnt compatible with ioprp image. That means that you have to remove pops.pak and use pops.elf + ioprp.img, but you have to replace ioprp with ioprp image from your game. Good luck - maybe i will fix these instruction a bit later.

Votre participation m'a ravi. Merci, merci et encore merci à vous.

    Cordialement.

    AKuHAK thank you, you're great. I knew that you will intervene because I do poorly remembered the conversation between you and KHN and my information could be wrong. What is certainly the case.

    If you could give us the links and how to use ".IRX" and ".IMG", it would be a nice Christmas present (late) you would do us (any PSX community).

    Thank you again for your participation in tests of some PS1 games in the USB list. You made me a great pleasure to be sure. Your participation delighted me. Thank you, thank you and moult thank you.

    Best Regards.

    Algol.

    Full instruction for adding irx files:
    1. Get game that supports your special device (I mean PS2 title) and look inside it content.
    2. Look for some IRX files at the disk
    3. First file that you need is SIO2MAN.IRX. You need this module for making other modules working.
    4. Copy it into POPS folder and rename as MODULE_0.IRX
    5. Search for your specific IRX files. I cant help you in recognizing what exactly you need. It can be one file or multiple files. I hope that for light gun it is USBD.IRX and USBGUN.IRX
    6. Rename them as MODULE_1.IRX, MODULE_2.IRX, ... etc. I dont know about exact order you have to experiment with it. For example I hope that for light gun first have to be usbd and second usbgun.
    7. Copy it into POPS folder and lets play
    If you got special device to work - fun! If you have no luck - you can copy specific IOPRPxxx.IMG from game into pops folder and rename it as IOPRP252.IMG. In such way you have to delete POPS.PAK and use only POPS.ELF + IOPRP252.IMG If still no way you can also try to add more modules from game into 6th step, you can try to change module order in 6th step. Just good luck )) I cant post any link - all files belong to sony! Don't forget that usb devices may not work if you use esb version of pops! And of course these mainpulations doesn't mean that you will be able to use all special functions. These steps only means that your device will be recognized properly (so all standard functions will work).

    I notice that the games Mega Man Legends, Mega Man Legends 2, and The Misadventures of Tron Bonne all cannot load to the start screen. It appears like they all have the same problem, so if one is fixed, the others might be also fixed.

    Salut "Breakingbed".

    Hello "Breakingbed".

    I am the administrator of the official lists HDD and USB (Algol). I see that you test a lot of games on this great PS2.
    Please could you learn these lists (HDD or USB is according to your tests) with your tests and especially if you have tested games that have not been or are from another source, another ID (different language) or in 1 CD (I think of Final Fantasy for instance).

    Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Sincerely.

    Salut Algol

    Hi Algol

    I can make you a list of games with their code, support (USB key for me) and I met bug if you want.

    I have a question. You think it's possible to correct the bug emulator like having vibration for games concerned correct its problems see the graphic bug? I can not stand the PS1 emulation and I'd really like to make games on the original media :)

    Salut "Breakingbed".

    Pour ta première proposition, c'est super car c'est ce qui est recherché avec la liste. Tu peux t'y connecter en passant par la première page de cette discussion ou par ces liens directs :

    ==> pour liste USB : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkthiKwj1VJMdGJyVDdyRXBQR0RsOTNrM3hvaFdacmc#gid=0
    ==> formulaire USB : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/10oPoxZvdtiO3YOe9kX_isgCkJMizCD_nvcf6TH4Xvck/viewform

    Pour corriger les bugs de l'émulateur, je ne sais pas, je ne suis pas krHACKen. S'il se remet à la tâche, et qu'il travaille dur sur POPS, nous verrons ce qu'il pourra faire mais je ne peux rien avancer pour l'instant, je n'en ai aucune idée.

    Pour jouer sur le support d'origine avec une PS2, si tu as une FAT et qu'elle lise encore bien les CD, tu devrais y arriver aisément. Avec une Slim aussi si tes jeux sont des Clones, avec la Slim tu passes par "PSX Launcher" et tu devrais y arriver aussi sans trop de mal.

    Bonne journée et à très bientôt.

    SVP, passe par les MP si tu désires plus de discrétion.

    A bientôt.

    Hi "Breakingbed."

    For your first proposal, it's great because that is what is sought with the list. You can connect you there through the first page of this thread or by these direct links:

    ==> USB list https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkthiKwj1VJMdGJyVDdyRXBQR0RsOTNrM3hvaFdacmc#gid=0
    ==> USB form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/10oPoxZvdtiO3YOe9kX_isgCkJMizCD_nvcf6TH4Xvck/viewform

    To fix bugs of the emulator, I do not know, I'm not krHACKen. If he returns to the task, and is working hard on POPS, we'll see what he can do but I can not move anything at the moment, I have no idea.

    To play on the original media with PS2, if you have a FAT and it still reads out the CD, you should get there easily. With a Slim so if your games are clones with the Slim you pass by "PSX Launcher" and you should do it too without too much difficulty.

    Good day and see you soon.

    Please passes through the MP if you desire more privacy.

    See you soon.

    Okay so its been since i posted and since then i got a Beatmania IIDX controller. I think Beatmania 6th Mix supports it because i can chose a 7 key controller in the options but the controller will not react at all.

    Greetz.
    Paused. I should move house next month and all my stuff (including my PS2s, TESTs, DESR and System 246) is currently boxed :( . I can't do anything on the PS2 until I get all my PS2 crap up and running to my new location. Pity, all I have is an OFW PS3 atm to play with :/ .
