I not remember well now, but for example what shows the uLE for transfer a game of
600MB it takes 6 minutes with a speed transfer of 1,4MB, the transfer by USB in the
console is so very slow and also you need make two steps, copy first the game from the
PC to a USB device, and copy it from the USB device to the console.

I don't know if the new modified versions of hdldumps for install the files for execute the
games from the HDD-OSD can install also directly the psx games itself, and if is possible,
from where are installed (network or HDD attached to the PC), and how many fast is the
    transfer compared with Radhostclient.

I don't know why you have a problem with the drag and drop files, probably is a problem
due to the operating system you use, or any program which blocks Radhostclient, firewalls,
antivirus, etc, i use Windows XP.

    Regards.

Ok, if I can save almost 15 minutes to transfer a game, it definitively worth to find a solution.
I did not thought it could be relative to the OS (Im using Win7), I will look into that direction.
    Thanks for your answer buddy.

    -----------------

Ok, I found my mistake. It was stupid. I was running RadHostClient as Admin. Which blocks the drag & drop option. :hororr:

pfsshell-0.2a for the win. Get you a IDE to USB adapter and hook your HDD to your PC.

    The stuff I'm using :

That's a broken external HDD enclosure + an ATX PSU:biggrin-new:.

Transfer speed is about 25 MB/s, takes no more than 2 minutes to copy a 700 MB disc image.

    EDIT : @ElPatas
I've just seen your new tutorial at EOL. Great work man:encouragement:.

Well, great you solved the problem.

But the IDE to USB adapter is no needed if you have IDE connectors in the PC right?

My PC is old and i have IDE connectors which i use for connect the HDD directly, and when i
    install PS2 games i reach a fast transfer speed of 48-52 Mb/s.

Would be great if it works with pfsshell-0.2a, but what i don't like about pfsshell if i'm not wrong
that is this app is command line only, not GUI right?

Also from what i see there is no detailed instructions for know how to use with the commands...

Thanks about the tutorial, at last i worked yesterday night too late for finish it, arf. :wink-new:

    Regards.

Well, I would get one, if only it would be useful, but my 50004 PS2 have some problems to detect my HDD ; I would probably spend more time trying to plug it back correctly than transfering through USB :biggrin-new: So 6-8 minutes is fine for me.

Of course. It would be more uselful to connect a PS2 HDD to a laptop for example.

That's right. But I personally prefer the USB connection, as I don't want to shut the system down before I plug/unplug the HDD.

    Yep, command line.

The command "help" prints this :

I maybe found the first game compatible with POPS-00001 that POPStarter cant run correctly.
I reinstalled POPS-00001 and tried Rayman Pal : it was running fine, tho with no CD tracks.
With the same bin converted with CUE2POPS, I cant go throught the dev credits at the beginning
of the game, the emu freezes at the Ubisoft logo. I tried with launcher.elf & execute.elf, same result for
    both.

    ----------------

Edit : I just tried to launch the IMAGE0.VCD, renammed to MYDUMP.BIN, with POPS-00001 : the game
freezes at the Ubisoft logo too. So the issue is probably related to CUE2POPS, not to POPStarter.

Thanks i will see if i'm capable of use the pfsshell.

@DaSA you used the vmode command of CUE2POPS for center the game when you
    made the VCD image?

krHACKen said that the vmode patch is responsible of the frame rate slowness for the
game Crash Bandicoot, probably it causes also the freeze for the Rayman.

    Regards.

I've found a major error in the descriptor "A1", in CUE2POPS. Games that have no CD-DA track are erroneously flagged as CDDA enabled:dejection:. I don't know if it's the reason of Rayman not working... Anyway, it's bad and has to be fixed.

No, I used no command. I forgot to mention that I tried to use the L1+Start+Select
trick to try to go through the freeze, without success.

D'oh, that sucks. Hope you can fix that easily. :encouragement:

Fixed. It has no effect in Rayman and Crash Bandicoot. I don't even know if IOPCD uses that field.
Before I release a new version, I'll have to commit some more changes to the NTSCpatcher...

Rayman PAL works perfectly for me, i have the original game (SLES_000.49), i dumped it
with Ultraiso to bin/cue and then converted to VCD with CUE2POPS_1_2.

It passed the logo of Ubisoft, showed the intro and played the game, the audio
    CD tracks works fine.

I tested it with the 3 containers, execute and launcher launched from uLE.

@DaSA if you don't have the original game probably you have a bad rip which worked for
any strange reason with pops-00001 and not with POPStarter, or you used a previous
version of CUE2POPS with Rev 11, or you made any other strange thing...it's hard
to know but all i can say that it works fine.

    Regards.

Maybe it helps to add the filesize of a (working) game? For instance when converted to .vcd Dead or Alive SLUS-00606 is 563 MB (591.393.520 bytes).
Just right click on the .vcd and check the "Size".
You can also check a game for errors with CDMage before converting.

    Great! :encouragement:

Yeah, that's maybe a bad rip. But that's quite weird that it worked with POPS-00001 :stupid: This rip was also confirmed working with PS1 emulator for PC. Well, problem solved, glad to know you got it working. With CD tracks. :encouragement:

Dont know. Lets try with Rayman. Mine (non-working VDC image) is 702 930 064 octets.
    What about you ElPatas?

Doh. Mine is 702 930 064 octets too.
    TOC here : RAYEU145F_CDRWIN.BIN
Black screen of death at startup. L1+Start+Select works

I've rebuilt the disc image (not with Zony's CDGEN) = BSOD
Packed the game EXE and executed it from the OSD handler = BSOD
    Retail BIOS = BSOD.

    ... I don't get it...

EDIT : It's a CDRWIN dump. Perhaps CUE2POPS does a load of shit with this game when it injects the 150 dummy sectors. Got the same result when answering NO to "Would you like to fix the disc image"...

My Rayman version (working with pops-00001, non working with popstarter), is now working with popstarter.

Rayman.bin came with no .cue file, so I had to rebuilt one with ImgBurn, which gave me this :

When converted with CUE2POPS, this version did not work (freeze at Ubisoft logo).

So I tried to convert my Rayman.bin with the same .cue as you have krHACKen*. The new VCD image works perfectly fine with POPStarter, and with CD tracks. Maybe your .bin have some problems.

Does that mean that a game with CD tracks, but without a correct .cue might have some issues with POPStarter?

    I hope it helps.

    * Working cue is :

Got my hands on a non-CDRWIN dump. It passes the Ubi Soft logo. Seems to work fine.
    TOC here : RAYEU145F_NOTCDRWIN.BIN

The 2 TOCs have a 2 seconds difference, so maybe my not working CDRWIN needed a gap++...
To confirm my theories, I'll have to :
    1) Verify that tracks of the non-CDRWIN dump start at the correct location (with Codebreaker);
    2) Retry the CDRWIN dump after converting it with a gap++ command.

So yep, the PAL Rayman is compatible. Although I didn't play it a lot...

EDIT : Tracks of the non-CDRWIN VCD are starting correctly. RAYEU145F_NOTCDRWIN.BIN is correct.
EDIT 2 : I tried the padded CDRWIN VCD with the RAYEU145F_NOTCDRWIN.BIN TOC, it doesn't work (I still get a BSOD).
Mmmm nevermind, a crappy dump is a crappy dump.
Oh, and I forgot to say that gap++ and gap-- have no effect when you answer YES to "Would you like to fix the disc image".

Does that mean that the gap++ command is supposed to make your CDRWIN dump work?

Btw, I just tested to launch POPStarter (launcher.elf version) with the last OPL+GSM beta build (r655) with NTSC enforce on a PAL game, it doesnt work : no video signal anymore. Too bad.

Nope. CUE2POPS v1.2 does have this code for the + 2 seconds activation :
IF (command gap++ OR the user answered YES to "Would you like to fix the disc image ?").
In other terms, the gap++ command does NOT add 2 seconds when the image is a CUE2POPS image. This stupid code would be modified in future versions.
Anyway, I did many tests with CDRWIN BIN/CUE before I released CUE2POPS 1.2 and didn't find any problem with output VCDs.

Does OPL+GSM beta build r655 work with the POPStarter r9 LAUNCHER ? What about POPS-00001 ?
