    @krHACKen
    Hello,
I have a request(I hope this is allowed):
Are you eventually willing to build in a possibility do determine where IGR exits to? e.g. OSDSYS,OPL,uLe,..? eventually via CHEATS.TXT?
    I would love this feature.
    Greetings petepooh

Hi guys, this question has probably been asked before but how can I fix my multi-disc game so it will work in POPStarter? The game I have is '70s Robot Anime Geppy-X. I went here and it said I needed to use a kit to fix it. My game isn't listed in the kit link so what can I do?

My apologies if this isn't allowed to be talked about in this thread.

Not all modern tv's don't support the resolution used by the emu, there are still more which supports it, make this afirmation in
general that the modern tv's can't be seen is not true and correct, and in the case that this is completely sure that this is your
actual problem, you could try more tv's for be sure that the problem is the tv, anyway would be a good idea add more
resolutions for the future to the emu if is possible.

    Best regards.

Not a lot of options for you.

Try to play VCD1 until its end, then import your VMC into a PC emulator, play disk 2 a bit then save on the PC emulator, then import back the VMC to your PS2 to play VCD2.

Ah ok. The game is pretty hard so by the time I get to disc 2, I'll probably have a modded PS1 or a Japanese PS1 lol!

I have an issue with POPStarter using the same game ('70s Robot Anime Geppy-X). It doesn't boot. I get a black screen. TV shows the system swapping from 480i to 240p and it shows there is a signal but black screen. There's no audio through the TOSLINK output either.

I put a SCPH-1000 BIOS into the folder containing the VMCs and it started the Sony logo like on the PS1 but it flickered to white towards the end of the jingle, went to solid white lines through the logo, and then froze after the jingle stopped. The game did not boot. I also tried Compatibility Patch 06 with and without the BIOS and I got the same results.

I'm at wit's end and would like to play my copy of the game on my PS2 instead of having to pop the disc into my PC and play the game there. I'm about 99% sure I have installed POPStarter correctly so I have no idea what is going on. ANy help would be highly appreciated.

I am not using debug mode. How could I start that mode? When I said "something keeps telling me that I'm missing a file", I meant something in the back of my mind and not a physical thing. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem. :) Lets check that, list them all.

Apply debug_and_halt.ppf (or something similar) over POPStarter.ELF and run it.

If 480p can't be achieved, at least interlaced would be nice.

This game is compatible with POPS, i have a report from an user who completed the entire game with
    an old previous version r13.2.

You are using the component cable?
You tried others games and happens the same?
Which TV do you have? CRT, Led, Oled...?

If you are using the component cable with a modern TV and this problem happens also with other
games, then seems this is another case of a TV do not supports the 240p resolution, or maybe
you have a bad dump of the game.
If you have any other TV try on it.

    Best regards.

@ElPatas about Image & sound through TV you're right, but if MonkeyBoyJoey made a good rip,
he should at least have a sound through TOSLINK output.
Well at least I have a sound through TOSLINK output,
even if my TV doesn't supports 240p or the TV is turned off.

So as you wrote, I also think that the rip of a game is bad (the disk is scratched etc.)
Here is a MD5 checksum for a :70's Robot Anime: Geppy-X: The Super Boosted Armor":
    http://redump.org/discs/quicksearch/70's-robot-anime-geppy-x-the-super-boosted-armor/

Copare this checksums to your BIN files.

I am playing the PS2 using a component cable on an LCD HDTV. This TV supports 240p as I am able to play PS1 games on my PS2 using the original discs perfectly fine. The TV displays the resolution as 720x240p when I click the info button on the remote. The game is not booting at all for me since I am having no audio output using the digital TOSLINK connector connected to my surround sound receiver. It is just a black screen.

If I may ask, how was this other user able to play it from start to finish? Not only is it tough but it's 4 discs. How can I set it up so I can play all four discs?

Thanks for the link, I'll have to save this for future use. I compared the disc to the checksums on that page and it matches perfectly. Disc 1 does not have any scratches. After comparing the BIN/CUE I ripped to the checksum, I saw that it was bigger than the disc and the length was longer. I went to compare it to my disc using Imgburn and it said that "Sector 1/Track 1 in the BIN/CUE files were larger than the one on the disc". I just re-ripped it and the new files seem to be fine in both Imgburn and in ePSXe. The old ones wouldn't load in ePSXe.

EDIT: Turns out the latest version of CUE2POPS is the culprit. After running the CUE/BIN through it, the BIN inflates and does not create a .VCD file until after running it through CUE2POPS a second time with the inflated files. I confirmed this inflation by verifying it against the original disc.

EDIT 2: Tried the older version of CUE2POPS and it is not working there either, I'm getting the same issue. I should probably add that I am using the standalone version of CUE2POPS. Any ideas?

ok i just finish some games so heres a feedback
    model: fat ps2 pal 50004
    playing: from internal hdd
    pops version: the latest beta.
my game library: all pal english games and all my rips matched redump.org crc32
    game list.
castlevania symphony of the night: ok. freeze when you exit the portal and go to outer wall. fix when you are exiting the door to outer wall dont jump from the platform to go up let your character to fall on the lower platform then move up.

    chase the express: ok

crash 123: ok. crash 3 have a shadow glitch appart from that all well

destruction derby 2: ok. only problem is that the pause menu cant be seen.

dino crisis 1: depends. there is an issue when you change firearms example from handgun to shotgun the game will freeze when you aim. solutions.
1 change weapons but dont try to aim. exit and reenter a room 6 times and your weapon will work. (note that this method dont work for everyone. @krHACKen try it and didnt work for him. maybe because of different ps2 version? another hdd?? dont know)
2 play this game from cd. best solution so far

    dino crisis 2: ok

medievil: ok. in the very first level there are the two faces talking to you, the when the first one speaks the dialog skips immediately. but it wont if you force ntsc. some slowdowns last only for seconds when you pickup keys, or enemies are coming from ground

medievil 2: no. missing textures in the main menu. in order to pass the new game and enter the museum level you need to use compatibility patch 1. the character when you play is like in inside the floor is not moving and the textures are black
update the latest compatibility patch 7 fixes some mising textures including main menu but are very light and when the videos passed and the time to play is come, the level textures are black also most characters are blinking.

resident evil 123 and survivor: ok. resident evil 2 needs compatibility mode 4 to fix some slowdowns on some stairs. resident evil 3 some times take more than usual to load example doors picking items or accessing item box. when you see black screen wait a little. (note @ElPatas have permant freeze on certain place maybe im lucky. and the game is incopatible for you)

    syphon filter 1-2: ok
