    Looks good, is a pity that Parasite Eve 2 don't have any sound in game, but is so great if krHACKen can
    fix freezes on the games, Spyro 2 PAL looks great also.

    I'm curious about which problems can cause the LibCrypt protection on the PAL versions of this two
    games because i don't know what happens.

    Best regards.

    Progressive scan would benefit me greatly as well. My new TV does not take POPStarter's signal (black screen after PS1 logo), and I can fix it through GSM by setting it to NTSC yet it leaves the image horribly squished in the middle of the screen. I have tried a bunch of configurations in GSM and nothing seems to change. Progressive scan via GSM gives a black screen. Anyone have any ideas?

    EDIT: Also to note, I've been using GSM v0.23x. I've tried multiple different configurations that I've searched online that other people have been having trouble with and nothing will fix it. Using all NTSC as well (NTSC PS2, NTSC TV, NTSC games, no PAL).

    Try $NOPAL in CHEATS.TXT

    Just tried it, still the same issue. I've never used cheats before though, but the process is create a CHEATS.TXT file in the games' VMC directory and have $NOPAL written in the text file, right? I'm using the latest beta as well. Very confusing...

    But it has to be something internally with POPStarter since the PS1 logo is output correctly, but as soon as the game starts it squishes the screen. Any other options to try?

    Yep, that how you are supposed to use it.

    Only happen on 1 game or several ? Which one(s) - and region ?
    HDD, USB or ETH ?

    Never heard such issue... does it happen with WIP 5 ?

    I tried both the latest beta and also the latest stable WIP 5, and it happens to every game I have tried so far. Right now I am testing with Resident Evil 2 Dualshock NTSC-U. My games, my PS2, and TV are all NTSC-U as well. I am also testing on USB currently.

    EDIT: Forgot to mention, the IGR screen also correctly renders just like the logo does, but as soon as I go back to the game it is squished again.

    Well well well... im a bit out of ideas. Being a NTSC user, you shouldnt have any problem. POPS runs nativaley in NTSC. And POPStarter detects your game region so it enables - or not - its PAL patcher. :/ $NOPAL should be useless if you use a NTSC game.

    You never got the older POPS/POPStarter versions (older than WIP5) working ?
    BTW, no issue in playing PS1 CD games ?

    @mrjaredbeta, seems that is a problem of your TV, most models of new TV's (Led, Plasma, Oled, etc) do not supports the low
    resolution of 240p from PSX games and others from old console systems, try in a CRT TV for discard the TV.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    @krHACKen, an user reported that for loading through network he needed put the username and password in
    the SMBCONFIG.DAT file and not in the IPCONFIG.DAT, also i remember when i tried the load through network
    long time ago i needed put the shared folder also in the SMBCONFIG.DAT file.

    The sample files you provided says this:

    SAMPLE_IPCONFIG.DAT
    192.168.0.1:139 My Shared Folder
    MyName
    MyPassword

    SAMPLE_SMBCONFIG.DAT
    192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.10

    I think this is wrong, the info from SAMPLE_IPCONFIG.DAT goes to the SAMPLE_SMBCONFIG.DAT
    and vice versa right?

    Best regards.

    Try this setting with me the image is shifted right, this setting that I created is perfect using the GSM 0.23x

    GSM 0.23x

    NTSC - I FULL BUFFER

    Dx = 0632

    Dy = 0030

    MAGH = 03

    MAGV = 0

    DW = 2559

    DH = 0479

    Syncv = off

    @ElPatas Thanks for letting me know.
    That's right, file names were swapped, stupid me. I reuploaded the archive.

    @all the TV not "refreshing" the display is most likely due to the way your non-CRT TV handles the signal and switches from a resolution to another.
    Got a led TV here. I hate modern shit seriously. Everytime I turn my PAL PS1 on, I must reconnect the AV cable; because this TV somehow cannot refresh the picture when switching from the native NTSC to PAL. It also happens [randomly] after a fmv was played. As for the PS2, displaying low resolutions thru RGB scart on that TV is hit or miss. When the picture isn't correctly centered, I have to reconnect the AV cable to fix it too -_- .

    Thanks for the help guys, guess it is just the TV's fault. New technology sucks. Still proud of all the progress POPStarter has been making recently, just can't enjoy it as much as you guys haha. :/

    @krHACKen: have you studied how POPS emulates the GPU?
    For PS1DRV, it seems to be allowing the PlayStation game to adjust some of the GS register values directly (to control the video output format, like whether interlacing is used), hence why only NTSC and PAL are supported. If 480P support was to be added to PS1DRV, then it wouldn't be able to do that.

    If it does not do the same thing, have you considered changing the video output to not use non-interlaced NTSC/PAL? It would make POPS compatible with some of these TVs that do not support non-interlaced NTSC/PAL through their component inputs.

    Or even user may choose what verion (V-mode) he\she like\want, by adding eg "I".
    "XX.I.My game.ELF", "I.XX.My game.ELF" for a interlaced video (480\576i).

    Without "I", game will start in an original 240\288p V-mode.

    I can align the image Popstarter on my TV: 32 "full hd with GSM 0.23x with the configuration you posted above, it would be interesting popstarter run at 480p would have the drawback of side most would centralize the stripe altomaticamente screen, maybe one support 480p by code in the optional CHEATS.txt file if I do not use GSM 0.23x before the image is shifted to the right screen.

    Hi everyone,

    I was trying to find more info on random freezes in Castlevania - Symphony of the Night. I managed to create a save file that can be used to recreate freezing on my personal setup. I'm just curious if this is something specific to my setup, or if other people have had similar issues with this game. Here's what I posted on another forum:

    The official compatibility list shows that this game runs without issues (under WIP 02). I am currently using WIP 06 from USB, and have run into some random freezing. I have been unable to track down WIP 02 to test if it runs without issues. A few oddities I have noticed between my setup and that found in the compatibility list:

    We both have SLUS_000.67 yet my VCD size is ~570.6 MB as compared to 557 on the compatibility list. I used CUE2POPS v2.2 whereas version 2.0 was used for the compatibility list. Both the PS2 and my TV are set for 16:9 and the game appears to fill the entire screen. I have a save file on my VMC which I can use to easily reproduce the freeze if needed.

    To reproduce: load the newest save game and head toward the portal near the first save room; teleport and then head toward the outer wall. The freeze occurs after exiting the "CD" hallway (there is an CD icon with the letters "CD" below in the hall leading away from the portal).
    Anyone wanting to get a copy of the VMC may find it here: http://ps2home.freeforums.net/thread/1040/popstarter-wip-break-castlevania-sotn

    That's a known issue, already reported by ElPatas if I remember.
