[PS2] POPS stuff & POPStarter

I've managed to check the PAL version of Ridge Racer Type 4. It run, race works, no slowdowns, BUT, there is a big graphical glitch in which we see a drawing skeleton of the track instead of most parts of it. Apparently, the issue does not connects with parts of race in tunnel, only on open space. Tried all compatibility modes, MODE 1, 3, and 7 restored the music, but glitch is still on. A fix for this lady would be brilliant, but take your time sir.

Can anyone help me to fix the black screen on Chrono Cross when using the Tele-porter, please?

 

I tried the new popstarter release and for some reason in FFIX the fmvs still stutter when I open the lid (Select+L2+R2+Triangle), in other parts of the game it works as it should, for example: if I open it in the main menu and start a new game, the screen will just stay black until I close the lid, but with fmvs it's a no go.

I've finished this game, the best thing you can do is to enable all characters, you won't get anymore black screens with the tele-porter.
Use the following code, keep in mind that it's for the American version of the game, and remember that it should go in the CHEATS.TXT file inside of the game's vmc directory.

Enable All Characters
$800719A0 FFFF
$800719A2 FFFF
$800719A4 FFFF

The only downside is that well all characters will be enabled even when they are not supposed to, just don't use the ones you haven't obtained if you don't want to cheat.

Hello, there is still a crutch to fix black cars in Gran Turismo 2. And do not go to games such as Warcraft 2, Fighting Force 2 and Tekken 3 horrible sparks background.

 

i was wondering if anyone else was having a problem with recruiting Pip in Chrono Cross. I chase him around the ship, he asks to join and when it prompts me to give him a name and I confirm it just goes to a black screen and plays background music.

 

The same thing happens when recruiting Norris, just use the cheat codes above mentioned and tell us your results. Any issues when using the tele-porter by the way?

 

used the code, loaded the game and went to where pip is. got into a fight with one of the ghosts in the room you chase him around in. have a weird graphical error happen, the resolution was out of whack and scan lines were showing. corrected itself after the end of the fight. it let me recruit pip. i played a little longer and finished the S.S. Invincible. Traveled to water dragon isle, saved and the game froze. I rebooted and loaded my save and now it freezes while loading the game. ugh. no black screen while using tele-porter though.

 

Maybe trying deactivate the cheats would help...?

 

I did. Still unable to load the save. My guess is it's somehow corrupted. I managed to find a save game file on gamefaq at basically the same point i was at, the water dragon isle. but its on new game +, has 60 star levels and stats are high as shit. <sigh> I Guess it will do for now, not everything is a one hit kill. If anyone happens to have a save game around that point or a little further and would like to send it to me, that would be GREAT!

 

I have a question, wasn't sure where to ask it but here seems the best idea.

Is there any way to have POPS games appear In the HDDOSD, and if so can someone tell me where I can find out how to do so.

Little tool.

DISCS_POOPER is a little program that does the boring writing DISCS.TXT files for you.

1. Create a new folder ;
2. Drop the VCD files of your multic-disc game in it ;
3. Drop DISCS_POOPER.EXE in the folder and run it ;

DISCS_POOPER creates :
. A VMC folder for each VCD in the folder ;
. A DISCS.TXT inside each VMC folder ;
. A VMCDIR.TXT inside each VMC to use only a pair of VMC for this multi-disc game.

4. Move your VCD and VMC game folders to your POPS folder ;
5. Enjoy.

Limits :
. Doesn’t comply with 4 CDs limit of the swap disc feature (so don't give him more than 4 VCDs) ;
. Barney Stinson voice non-included.

Is possible apply the 480p patch to a commercial ps2 game? since that some games like "megaman X collection" and other compilations neither works in HDTVs.

Here's some unfinished business
1- Theme park(1995) sound glitch.
2- Need for speed freeze at loading screen.
3- Filtering has some problems some games like Resident Evil kind which has 2D background and you can see enemies behind wall or table. So transparan effect must diasble. We must put 2 filtering with transparan and non transparan.
4- Tomb Raider dark pixel fix patch07 don't work well colors still so bed. Perhaps you could share cheats codes we config colors own.

 

Does anybody know what is USB2 key (fast and slow) in Mass Storage type? I don't know what this is. I'm reporting a game on USB compatibility website.

Je suis l'administrateur de toutes les listes officielles pour "POPStarter rev13" et je suis à l'origine de ces "appellations".
Pour faire simple, il existe sur le marché des clefs USB2, des clés ayants une mémoire cache assez grosse et un contrôleur très rapide, ce sont les clés dites "Fast" ou rapides, les autres clés peuvent être considérées comme des "Slow". Les clés USB2 que j'utilise sont de la marque "PATRIOT" de type "RAGE" et elles sont de 32Go. J'utilise aussi des clés USB3 de la même marque mais elles se nomment "PATRIOT RAGE Supersonic" et sont des 32 ou des 64Go. Ces clés sont très résistantes et donnent d'excellents résultats tout autant que les clés USB2 de la même marque. Elles sont un peu chères mais l'excellence se paye.

Je ne veux pas gêner le site en m'exprimant uniquement en Français mais c'est ma langue maternelle et je suis né il y a bien longtemps sans apprendre l'Anglais, je ne parviens juste qu'à le lire sans tout comprendre, je m'exprime peu sur les sites Anglophones. Je n'ai aucune confiance aux traducteurs automatiques, veuillez m'en excuser je vous prie.
