Two BLue ray drives? Does that mean one is a burner?!?!? It don't got to be pretty as long as it works :p.

The word about each one is a different length. The one on the left looks much shorter... like HDD.

Oh and please note the nice USB sticker - does PS3 use USB???? W_O_W! xD

Which is nice are the leds on the right of the kit - GP0? GP1? Cell core status?
Oh and of course the SD slot on the bottom :p

PS2 did, so why not PS3? Also the connector on the back of the new controller is obviously mini usb.

The connector on the left of the USB looks more interesting, FOOT SW?

smf, on the old ps1 performance analyzer the foot switch was to start capturing a frame of performance data. i guess its the same there. dont know how if the dtl-t15k had one, but i guess so.

They should start selling these things in store. I'd rather have this one under my TV than the monstrosity-PS3 mockup i've seen till now. I hope that THAT design wasnt final...

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see slots for a proprietary memory card. Was I asleep when they announced that memory cards will be USB/CF/MS or something?

I guess you must have been. It appears Sony are pulling out of the memory stick race. There is no money in it.

It's a double edged sword. You can no longer blame Sony for selling memory cards at a high cost, but if you want to transfer your saves from ps1/ps2 cards then you need an adaptor.

I don't know if the PS1/PS2 can save to USB devices, so it might just be a one time transfer ( so you can borrow your mates converter ) or you might always need it to play the game. I'm not 100% sure why there is such a fuss about backwards compatibility though, it's nice but at what cost?

It'll be interesting to see how manufacturers cope with creating clone controllers. As I'm guessing they are HID compatible.

Alot has happened since Sony lost the VCR market....

Why else do you think they bought a movie studio?

The same reason they bought Psygnosis.

just returned from this years games convention tradefair in leipzig, germany and guess what - they had one of these babies just lying around there on the press-only-day. asked a couple of questions to a couple of sony guys there who were mostly clueless. (the first one was like: "oh, this ain't the ps3 dev-kit, its just a video player." yeah, right...)

after begging a bit, i was also able to get my hands on the controller, which felt a bit cheap to me.

shortly after, while i was under the impression that nobody was watching me, i started randomly pushing buttons on the devkit, then tried to eject the br-disc, but suddenly and out of nowhere, one of the sony guys rushed up to me and well... that stopped me from getting more intimate with the unit. ;)

here are some pics: (excuse me for looking like a lunatic, i dont look that stupid usually)

unfortunaly, the light there was kinda bad and most of the other pictures were too blurry.

Interesting that they are using the Multi out, rather than HDMI - if they aren't using HDMI at a conference, then when will it be used!

    Nice pictures ds4!
Have you try to lift off the devkit, to judge its weight?
You pushed too much on the compact flash eject button...
This devkit don't have the latticework like the one on the gameinformer's website pictures, heat problem maybe?

That looks like a CF slot on the front.
