PS3 dilemma - is it me or do games stink these days?

And if you have all the time in the world to spend on it :thumbsup:

 

Having a game night at a friends house, we played the old motorstorm 1 demo on his plasma and passed the controller around to everybody. That night sold me on a ps3 (I got mine just a week later as a result).

 

Don't compare Motorstorm with its sequel, Pacific Rift.

I don't particularly enjoy playing the original launch title but Pacific Rift is a really fun game that captures the essence of the environments quite well. One of the few Ps3 titles to offer your music in-game.

 

Motorstorm's got nothin' on 4-player split screen on Mario Kart 64.

 

It's way better for single player though.

 

If you like old school games, i can recommend super stardust HD. It was developed by Housemarque, previously known as Bloodhouse on the amiga.
Personally i also like to play sandbox games, so now i'm busy with Just Cause 2, its more fun than GTA4 imo.

 

You'll be happier with a 360 esp if you like your shmups and old school

 

better than racing through the Star Cup in Grand Prix mode? i SERIOUSLY doubt that.

 

The elastic AI in MK64 is bullshit.

While on the subject of MK64, you should try (if you didn't already) Crash Team Racing (The PS1 game, not the PS2). It's amazingly good, and imo way better than MK64.

I actually bit the bullet and bought it from PSN. It's nowhere near as fun as mk64 and it certainly doesn't handle as well either. Drifting is supposed to make you feel nice, CTR's drift makes me feel like "oh shit, turned too tight, can't correct in time!"

 

Well, it is considered one of the best kart racers and i remember it being tons of fun, both the battle and story mode. Also, the powerslide system was good.

GUYS! Get "TRINE" it's a great cheap game... one of the funniest i playied in a long time... it remembers me of "the three vikings"...

got it yesterday and went to play it non-stop for almost 6 hours!

 

You mean The Lost Vikings? Great games, those. Kind of unappreciated too, these days.

 

no worries. I m kind of a Crash fan (original 3 titles on the PSX) so I bought this about a year ago =)

There's also a lot of Diddy Kong Racing (n64) thrown into CTR btw, so its more similar to that than MK64.

So, you're a Crash fan too. The 3 original ones for the PS1 and CTR, made by Naughty Dog, are the best. The other games, starting by Crash Bash, are just plain.
