PS3 dilemma - is it me or do games stink these days?

Is it me or does anybody have a problem with going back and playing diddy kong racing? I use to love it back in the day but last time I tried to play it I found it hard to play for more then a few mins. Mario Kart 64 on the other hand I can still play for hours.

 

it's unplayable w/o the n64 controller imo. The DS version was very easy for some reason.

 

I still find it unplayable now on the n64 (its in my collection).

 

Diddy Kong racing indeed has a difficult gameplay.

While it was playable (at least for me) on the n64, it's a nightmare on nintendo DS.

 

I swear I find the final boss in DKR harder now than I did back in the day. For the life of me I can;t figure out how I had the patience to beat Wizpig's second race but I did manage it somehow! I still struggle on the other bosses to (especially that damn Octopus)
