It's all good My track record speaks for it self. by all accounts I should have been banned at least 16 times.

Then the one time I was Actually banned (and the irony behind the person who pulled the trigger)

SO yeah... But hey I've mellowed...somewhat

The worst thing about XBL is that you can not turn off automatic renewal without calling MS. (not through the dashboard, not online) Also often times when you get a good deal for 1-3 months through the dashboard, they will turn on automatic renewal without telling you.

Though now they accept paypal, so maybe this won't be such a problem anymore.

I haven't used Xbox Live for almost a year, but I can assure you the Auto-Renewal trickery they pulled was real. Real annoying.

You have 48 more posts than ASSEMbler himself. How is that possible?

PSN was down for all of 2 hours for me yesterday so I wouldn't have thought it was hacked.

Auto renew was a pain in the ass.

You can now simply log into xbox.com and turn it off.

Seniority doesn't give you the right to act that way.

    Truth be told.

Also I wouldn't jump to conclusions until you either have.
    A. Bunch of anon's bragging about their work
B.Sony issuing security emails about customer's personal info possibly being lost
C.Whatever else you can think of.

Look, Xbox LIVE and PSN are both shit.

Micro$oft is a rip off. I have to pay $110 for Gears 3, plus another $50 for Xbox LIVE (12 months). That it almost half the price I paid for the console itself.

Above that, auto-renewal was on. So they charged me for a 1-month subscription. After 40 minutes on the phone with some moron reading a screen in god knows where, they finally agreed to refund me as I had turned it off ahead of this issue. However, the bill still came through, forcing me to pay $20 for something I did not get.

To top that off, my Internet is so damn slow, because I have water in my 40 year old copper wire somewhere in my street. Telstra (bastards who wired Australia up) will not do shit because the NBN government scam Internet is coming in 7 years...

I like PSN more then XBL, but Sony can not do online stuff well. I dont know why.

Above all, they both suck, and can be improved a lot.

Supposedly back up again. Unexpected downtimes don't really fill you with confidence in the service, do they?

I would say 'that's all right, it's not like we pay for the service', but with the introduction of the Plus accounts, people do - and to the same amount as X360 Gold.

    :/

I used to have a few 100 more posts than ASSEMbler at one point.

I honestly think some of us guys and girls here are crying little turds. Grow up. Oohh, Xbox live sucks because they have auto renewal. So what?! Switch the bloody thing off via the net ( it can be done). My server host has auto renewal as well. Maybe I should say they suck too ? Some people like auto renewal. It saves us having to worry about updating stuff.

Oh, and 50 USD a year for a very good online service isn't a rip off at all. If you don't like it then don't bloody pay for it.

I think the point was, you COULDN'T disable it from the internet and when you called up to cancel it - they gave you the run around after you had already been on hold for X amount of time.

When I had to call to cancel I got the whole "are you sure you want to cancel? what about all the friends you have made? how will you speak to them?"

They have now corrected their ways, but it wasn't always the case.

But yes, Live is pretty good imo

    Yakumo,

As someone said. It's not the point there is auto renew. It's just that you use to have to jump through hoops to disable it or remove your credit card from your account. If you could have always done it online and in 5 seconds I don't think there ever would have been any bitching over it. =P

Me personally, I'm not saying XBL is a crap service. It offers good stuff, but just because you pay for a service doesn't mean that a service you don't pay for is dog shit over not paying anything in the first place. Other then that huge PSN hack fiasco, Psn has been fine for me (I don't play online very often, if I do its free and the PSN store offers a pretty damn good selection with frequent sales).

Also yes we all are a bunch of whiny bitches on this site. That's never going away. =)

Correct. I removed it from the net, and it still charged me.

Phoned up, and they didn't to jack shit.

Still got charged, for a month of gold, which I never got.

Um... Xbox Live is technically $60 a year. =)

Although, I've never paid even close to that much.

    NO, REALLY.

I had nightmares with this tupid auto renewal when my CC expired and i had a LOT of Ms point already paied for...

you can't use those point to buy the gold extension, being banned i couldn't use the points i paied for for games, and i had to get a new CC (i had no wish to get a new one AT ALL) just to pay MS gold account. and no, if you CC expires they doesn't downgrade you to a normal xbox live account they BAN you!

really, compared to psn xboxlive is hell. and a hell you pay for!

Well just to spite you guys calling Microsoft on it's Customer service I took the time to call and get my dad's Card taken off my live account.

    here's a break down

    Call
    pressed 1
    Waited
    waited some more
shitty music (they used to play cool club music)
Guy answers and does not sound like Apu
I tell him my name and Phone #
    he looks though my history
amazed that my account goes back to 2004 in his words "you are the most tenured person I've had"
    more waiting
explanation as to why I can't remove the card
    Subscription canceled
2 3 month codes are generated to make up my time
    confirmation number
    Hang up

    Recieve e-mails

    Expired credit card problem solved
