When I cancelled my auto-renewal in june I had to phone them up and they gave me the whole "oh are you sure you want to stop, you'll build up discounts!! I see you subscribed with a 60% discount don't you want anything else like that?????" to begin with the length of your subscription has almost no bearing on the discounts you get as I hadn't been subscribed for 6 months before I was offered that. There was a point where you could turn it off online but they had removed that feature when I tried, have they brought it back? I like xbox live though, but I can't afford it all that often so I play in fits and starts. I just wish the customer support were a bit more helpful and although I perosnally have never been banned, it seems to me to be a bit of a two fingers up to customers that you have to appeal a ban by way of forum. While there are a lot of idiots on there calling themslevles Ihk4MSpnts and asking why they were banned, seems to me that any genuine mistakes are rather lost among the morons. Also, although the replies by the XBLPET are very funny to read, they're not exactly professional responses you'd expect from employees of a multi-billion dollar company, though perhaps on a forum moderated by 12 year olds EDIT GodofHardcore Maybe they're better in the states than here in the UK
The problem is people listen to a few horror stories and then decide this = dogma. It most certainly doesnot. I've had people tell me ''eBay is mostly scammers'' and it turned out a friend of a friend down the pub had told them that. Exact same call centres. Don't listen to the stories.
You sure? I'm not listening to any 'stories' I'm basing what I'm saying entirely on my own experiences and I've only ever been sent through to an irish (I know because I asked where they were based as I was so surprised that it wasn't an indian man on the phone) call centre, would seem bizzare to use an irish call centre for the whole world. I'm not saying they're bad, just in my experience, not even all of my experiences, I have been annoyed with how I've been treated. Like actual technical support related things they've been great just whenever I've called up about money related things I've been given the hard sell. *shrug*
They do ban you, though after a month or two (and a lot of emails telling you to update your payment info) they just downgrade you to a silver account. Also I know that as recently of February of this year, you could not turn off auto renewal online. Maybe it's changed since then?
Your pretty much on the money there, a mate of mine works for the xbox callcenter outsource company in dublin. His FB statuses are pretty interesting at times as they have to use real names and regularly get gamers adding them to find out whats going on lol
FTFY. Your internet sucks because Australia won't do jack about the monopolies screwing over it's citizens. The cost of games are basically the same deal. Live is a good service compared to what we used to have that I'm pretty sure you're too young to remember, such as people with Action Replays doing wall hacks in Socom 2. PS: If you want to be taken seriously stop with the M$/Micro$oft. Nobody with half a brain ever used it that wasn't some sort of fanboy.
Sorry but that the biggest bullshit i ever heard since usually 360 fanboys says that. Beside that you know that you bullshit yourself. I perfer PSN than XBL. Better exclusive games and better online.
Sorry but that the biggest bullshit i ever heard since usually PS3 fanboys says that. Beside that you know that you bullshit yourself. I perfer XBL than PSN. Better exclusive games and better online It goes the other way too fanboyism is retarded pure fact based on Consensus however.....
Live never went offline for more than a day at most. Live never had millions of user's information exposed due to crappy security. Free is nice but you get what you pay for. Though it would be really nice if Microsoft was a bit harsher to assholes on Live.
I'm sure SONY could afford to have proper protection on their customer's information, but nah they rather make horrible lasers. I'm not a fan boy for any name, I've always had bad luck with SONY products. I had fun on XBOX Live, but was annoying the 360 didn't have WiFi on the old models, really wrecked it for me.
It does seem a bit odd when I can order games + consoles from the US (including delivery) cheaper than I can walk down to the store and buy it off the shelf. ----- Lets say I want to order the 3 latest limited edition XBOX 360 consoles (which I have) Australia: http://www.ebgames.com.au/xbox360-1...all-of-Duty-Modern-Warfare-3-Console-Xbox-360 http://www.ebgames.com.au/xbox360-154512-Microsoft-Xbox-360-320GB-Gears-of-War-3-Xbox-360 http://www.ebgames.com.au/xbox360-154291-Xbox-360-Limited-Edition-Kinect-Star-Wars-Bundle-Xbox-360 Total Cost: $1695 AUD ~ $1676 USD ~ €1,236 EUR US http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/consoles/microsoft-xbox-360-320gb-gears-of-war-3/91372 http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/co...n-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3-console/93193 http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/consoles/xbox-360-limited-edition-kinect-star-wars-bundle/92652 Total Cost: $1263 AUD ~ $1249 USD ~ €921 EUR That is a difference of $432 AUD ~ $ 426 USD ~ €315 EUR and for what? <- I could buy ANOTHER console with that kind of cash. /rant EDIT: For those that don't know GameStop and EBGames are the same company. US vs. Australia.
