wow i want this on my ps3! but without the cobra dongle that is in any case impressive, really i was wishing for such a thing. hope the fix the save problem!
In your face Sony! They could be selling PSP games to be played on PS3 but they didn't. I would gladly buy Killzone Liberation and Crisis Core on the PlayStationStore if i could play them on the PS3.
I wonder how good the compatibility is (Mini seem to have reasonable number of restrictions, some seem to be for emulation reasons).
Here's a short list of games someone tried. Angry birds mini - total freeze had to hold button down Crisis Core FF7 - fullspeed Dissidia duodecim FF - doesnt boot restart on exit Dissidia FF - fullspeed and pulls up the keyboard to input name FF Tactics WoTL - fullspeed but still slowdown in the action sequences Monster Kingdom ***el Summoner - doesnt boot restart on exit The 3rd birthday - doesnt boot restart on exit
seems LOTS of games are fullspeed and ok, even crysis core from what feedback from people says (even though no save option so far)
Tis pretty cool alright, and DeanK managed to incorporate the internal ps1 emulator into his multimanager, you can play your ps1 backups straight off a burned disc full screen XD
I've been around the block and over the years done a bit of reading and there are two possibilities at this point regarding this topic: 1. They bastardised the current mini emulator to include commercial ISOs - Something which Dark Alex himself dis-guarded as non-viable at the time (On PSX-Scene.com) because, and if I remember correctly, he stated that this emu included on the PS3 wasn't capable of commercial ISO launch or even anything of the like. I think his point being that this is nothing like the PS1 emu discovered on the PSP/PS3. Don't quote me on that one, just something I witnessed on a forum I frequented. 2. They've created their own PSP emulator. This makes less sense than option 1 to me. Whatever has happened, the Cobra team have done something amazing. I hope this feature can be enjoyed by everyone at some point soon anyway.
As boreman said, the latest build ( SVN R2326 at the moment) isn't that bad. It certainly has some issues, but overall works great.
