How many games (aside from some mobile ports like Fruit Ninja) *require* touch controls? Sure, lots of games have them glommed on, but really, how many require?
Andorid consoles are now obsolete. I want this now But the Retron 5 is also launching soon so torn.... Oh and Ninja Giaden Sigma + and 2+.... yeah ALL over this.
It's a stupid idea in the sense that I doubt the many people who haven't bought Vitas have been waiting for a version you could plug into your TV... I might get one to play Gravity Rush and Persona 4 Golden, though. Shame about the ridiculously priced memory cards.
well thats exactly what it made me think i wasn't bothered about the vita, too expensive not enough games that appealed to me but this little box does appeal to me and it's something i may eventually buy.
7force you are getting to be way too predictable. But yeah PSPs you can hook up to a TV but the VIta you can't I never go anywhere so I don't need a portable unless I want to play tetris while I take a shit. What we have now is a $100-160 indie game machine. That is a great thing.
The problem is that a lot of the games on Vita are just versions of console games that rely on them being portable. If they're not portable, why not just play the console versions?
I WAS thinking this will flop like the Ouya, but judging by the number of people interested here, maybe not... What are it's primary, interesting features other than TV out? all you get is a vita in a box, with limited game support. Not all of them use the features, but I have a fair number of games that are both good and use the touchscreen/other features on present on this thing.
I'm actually in a similar boat myself albeit with a slightly different ordering of consoles. The PSVita TV at $100 seems like something I could get behind and I have absolutely no idea as to why. I don't own a PSP or a PS3 (yet) so being able to use PSN or any extra features isn't in the cards for now. I also don't own a dedicated HDTV nor do I know anyone who owns a Vita and yet at $100 I'm having a hard time saying no.
Some of those games are cheaper or enhanced on vita. Plus having the Vita versions saves room that a bulky ps3 case takes up.
This is already sold out in Amazon Japan http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/09/10/playstation-vita-tv-already-sold-out-on-amazon-japan/ One thing Sony really need to get back on track is the PS1 Classics. There are some incredible games missing on their digital store, like Destruction Derby 2, Gran Turismo, Gran Turismo 2, Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer Revolution, Tekken 3, Wipeout Xl, Wipeout 3... Plus some are only available on japanese PSN. Don't know about the availability of PSP games, but they must have the best for purchase. And this is me talking, someone that doesn't like digital distribution. But for those old games, Sony has to know how to take advantage of them. Specially on a system like the Vita TV
I don't actually get the idea of re-releasing tekken 3. Tekken Tag was released in HD and has all the characters of tekken 1 2 and 3. The only thing missing would be endings and that beat'em'up mode.
Some bluray players supposedly put out a better image. Load time differences...CD playback. etc. I almost bought an Oppo but decided it was out of my budget http://www.oppodigital.com/
also some people have a gaming TV setup and a seperate TV for movies etc and makes sense to have a nice player
yeah I'll probably end up getting this. I love the remote desktop kinda function for the ps4. too bad Tearaway is so touch based, because that game looks really neat. I guess I'll have to end up buying a vita anyway...
