Awesome thanks. I just got a PSX myself recently but have had trouble getting FMCB to boot on it. A friend managed to do a ready made memory card with version 1.93 on it already so from here what else do I need in order to boot it on my PSX?

In your archive with the translation file "mongon.XML" was found in two folders: boot_0 and xBar_0. In the original, it is only in xBar_0.

I looked at the web site you linked. I seen the PSX English XMB for DESR-5700 & 7700 files, so I tested them on my units....
Most of the files don't worked right for me. Like the AboutPSX.xml file, I set that file in and then try starting the About info and the PSX just loads & loads.. trying its hardest to load that file.

It may just be me... however I try using a Japan file from my unit and set some parts in English and test it, Worked no problem.

 

I used translation files to DESR-5000 & 7000. Everything works fine and no problems.

 

Well we have two setup of Translation files, one for DESR-x000 to x100 and the other for DESR-x500 to x700. I've tired using all the files for a 7700 and got a load of problems.. mostly not translation & parts not loading right. I started looking at the files myself and I see that on a 7700, you not only need to translation all the ".xml" files but the "jp.dic" text files as well.

So far I'm getting it translation on my own by using Google. Most of the data that need to be edit are the "jp.dic" files.. however the download on the site only has ".xml" files.

 

I did not know that the files "jp.dic" should be translated too, unfortunately my PSX DESR-5500 currently can not boot into XMB, there is something with the hard drive, so I can only check the translation for X000 X100 models, but once these files also need I'll translate it soon, thanks for letting me know about it

 

I've translated most of the files for a DESR-7700 & DESR-5700, so I can upload them if you like? (Once I have some time to rar the needed files) I'll like to also note that I've try using the your files you linked and sadly all they do on a 7700&5700 is f-up the XMB and most apps like Video Editing don't work.. they just load for a long time and the HDD does not do anything. I've starting to think that the files for a 5500&7500 are not the same.

The files I made for myself are working just fine and I've also fix some of the bad google translates like "Input" & "Make" being Yes & On. And all the parts that say "Wold you like?" being "Are you sure?"

P.S. A funny thing on the "jp.dic" is that sometime you'll see a "en.dic" file that is fully in English of the something that's in the "jp.dic"
Its almost like they started to make it in English then stopped as it was not going to be over hare.
One more thing, We do have some img files to translation as well.

 

translation is based on the 7700 model, so I do not think that the case in different files need to re-translate one bad XML and check every idle application

That's good to know it was just some bad XML files and not a different set of files. Any work on the "jp.dic" files done yet? If not I'll be happy to link some ones I have so far.

Well, in the file "DESR-5000-5100-7000-7100 XMB ENG" there is still an error. When you select an imported music and pressing the triangle (delete, information, etc.) console freezes.
After replacing the translated files to the original, all perfectly works. It is possible that the error is in the file "xBarPluginMusic_0" but I'm not sure.

 

This problem was corrected me another 3 weeks ago, you may have an older version of a translation, redownload all the files again and update the files XML files to your console
