can't believe it! i'm downloading legal mp3 at incredible speed and the database is good too! O_O am i dreaming?
i haven't toyed around, to much so far so i can't tell. videolan doesn't warn me about any drm in the file properties page... also i've listened to files more than 3 times and they didn't complain about drm... when i get home i'll try to put a couple files in my mp3 player (strictly NON IPOD).
Karsten, but still I have to say this. Qtrax is NOT legal. And well P2P is a BIG NONO here on this forum. So when you as a moderator are talking about it, then you are doing something very STUPID ! http://torrentfreak.com/how-to-convert-millions-of-bittorrent-users-to-qtrax-080128/
all newspapers and webpages in italy are saying that qtrax is 100% legal. what is your source? if it proves it to be unlegal i'll delete the topic. edit: by the way that link's writer says that he is biased and might be totally wrong
Karsten: what is legal in Italy is not always legal in Denmark or USA for that matter. Or what is legal in Sweden is not legal in USA or Italy and so forth. Get your facts straight !
so what are we supposed to do? close the topic it if it's not legal in USA? kev it's the owner and is from the states... so the question is: qtrax is legal in usa? if it is not i'll close this ASAP
Karsten P2P threads has always a kind of a NONO in this forum, whether it was legal one place or illegal somewhere else.
I still don´t believe it is Legal, whether it is in Italy or not. And I highly doubt it is legal in the USA. And Karsten, I disapprove this thread. And I remember a site being shut down (not napster) that had in some ways the same thing going on, but that was a "P2P". Sadly I just can´t remember the name.
Legal or not I'm going to try it There's a new album I'm after but a little sample would go down nicely before I buy it and find out it's complete crap. In Japan it's all good because they just don't follow anything unless your driving Yakumo
To me the site looks like a P2P site, just like the old site that was shut down. That I can´t remember the name off. So whether I think P2P is great or not, is not what I am after. I am after the legality in the USA. And I doubt it is legal over there.
Don't get over-excited just because you think Qtrax could be illegal. I read about this service the other day and it looked pretty legal to me. It's a good idea, and I'll probably give it a shot sometime. I still prefer a CD over a file, though.
as soon as it's clarified we'll act. i mean, me or some other mod will close/delete this as soon as it's officially deemed non legit. or if another more experienced mod think it's better to close it now it's welcome. karsten
I would think it's fine, Karsten. I've read about this service as well, and the only naysayer in the thread would be WolverineDK.
I am not per say a naysayer, I am just in doubt. it is legal in USA, since I highly doubt it is legal here. And well I live in a mini USA. So it wouldn´t shock me, if it was deemed illegal.
No links were given out. Newspapers, websites and many other sources have reported this as a free LEGAL service. Until it's proven otherwise what's the issue? :-/
For as long, I have been a member , then almost every kind of P2P thread has been locked here, and I don´t see why this thread should be different and not be deleted. And believe me, I do like P2P, I just don´t get the double standards. From this thread, to the old ones.
P2P ILLEGAL discussions have been locked. This one is said to be LEGAL. There is no double standards, P2P is merely a means to transmit data and nothing more.
