Yeah, I do have. But the words just doesn´t do it when it comes to you. It was about the first post, I gave it a spam reason, where I felt you Karsten were the next worst moderator since Paulo. And called you an idiot. But if I get banned over that, then fine.
http://news.sky.com/skynews/xml/article/tech/0,,91221-12508,00.html - written today. A legal download site/client for music WILL ask for a subscription or a download fee, unless we're talking about a site for unsigned artists who give their consent. Any commercial music needs royalties paid (to the RIAA in the US and the MCPS in the UK, or PRS if it is considered a broadcast). If the site does not pay said fees, it IS illegal. And it appears that the record companies have said no to them, so how can it be legal?
Clearly not. I have no clue what the hell you have against the site. It mayy or may not be illegal and your getting your knickers in a twist over nothing. Also its abit funny you find it acceptable using megaupload a site that is full of copyrighted content yet this isnt ok.
I got some of my Galbadia hotel links removed by mods before. And its not even P2P, its a giant database!
yeah, but come on, we all know what that place is  One massive server filled with anime and game soundtracks. Very handy mind you. Because of that site I bought Wangan Midnight Run Maximum Tune 2 and 3 soundtracks  Yakumo
What is the problem here Wolverine? Just research it a bit before posting over nothing. " At the Midem conference in Cannes, France, Qtrax and its parent company Brilliant Technologies Corp. announced deals on Sunday with all four major labels that would make it the first free and legal ad-supported P2P service with major label music. By allowing users to share DRM-protected files with label approval, Qtrax CEO Allan Klepfisz said he expected the service to offer over 25 million songs, dwarfing the catalogs of iTunes and other online music stores. The service launched today, after what Klepfisz called four and a half years of negotiations with the labels." http://blog.wired.com/music/2008/01/major-labels-al.html
Dot50Cal: thanks for making me pissed . DRM is not a great thing if you want good music quality, but fuck it. I don´t care, download DRM as much as you like. I just seem to feel that DRM sucks donkeys arse. And ad supported software makes it just worse in my mind, again maybe that is just me. But leave the topic dead. And let it rest in pieces.
Um, alright. I was just pointing out that you keep saying the site is illegal, when infact it is not, as the site owners have received permission from the record labels agreeing to giving mp3's away for free. I assume from the talk about the application, that its ad supported so thats how they must be making revenue for the record labels. DRM doesn't do anything to the quality of the music. It simply restricts it from being played under certain conditions. A nice trade off considering its 1) Free and 2) Other PAY services are DRM'ed (itunes).
Dot50Cal, did you read the link I posted? Your link, posted 26th January, was titled "Qtrax Claims Major Labels Are Onboard With P2P Music Sharing". My link, posted 30th January, was titled "Big four music labels deny Qtrax deal". So, what has happened is that Qtrax CLAIMED that they were launching a legal site. Then these companies they allegedly had permission from turned around and said - hang on, no you don't! As the wired link itself states, the licenses they had expired.
I wonder why Dot50Cal did this, when I knew. That the site wasn´t legal. Dot50Cal: are you mad at me, because of something ? or are you just trying to step on me ? I knew from the beginning, the site was borderline illegal. So I wonder why Dot50Cal did as he did.
I don't think he "did" anything.....finding those news stories about it not being legit in itself was a bit of a challange..so i think he (most of us) just didnt know
Haha, so the service is dead? How on earth did they think they could get away with this? Wolverine, its exactly as Ryan said, I just didn't think a company would be stupid enough to try something like this.
