MY rarest thing would be either my copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga (U.S. release) or my JVC VCD+PhotoCD card for the saturn.
Wowza. I've got a whole bunch of probably worthless E3 swag. Various stickers and keychains, Perforce branded foam airplanes, a metal tin with "The Movies" logo on it (that used to be full of Tootsie Rolls), a couple PS2 Demo Discs, and a dozen or so T-Shirts including a shirt from the Nintendo DS announcement event (with a picture of the original DS design on it). As for stuff worth something, a pretty much useless (to me) N64 Interface Box [image], no power supply or partner card. When I'm ready to join the marketplace, it'll probably be trade fodder for the stuff I'm looking for. One I'm rather proud of, a Wonderwitch (Wonderswan consumer dev kit, like a Yarozee) [image]. The manual is in Japanese, but having worked on a number of systems, you can actually figure out some of the technical stuff easily. Grayscale palettes. Neat. And one I know is *really* rare, a Wondermagic kit (Wonderswan flash cart and parallel port programmer, unofficial) [image]. I can't remember how I possibly found the manufacturer. They produced maybe a couple hundred of them, and I somehow got them to ship me a couple all the way to Canada.
The rarest things I have are from further back than the majority of the stuff here. My Atari Romscanner - 10 cartridge switcher and my Navarone Ti-99/4A 3 Cart Expander
I remember seeing a Mega Drive version of that Romscan in a British magazine called Mean machines. It never did get released though as far as I know. yakumo
First time I have ever seen that product. Never even heard of it before. Mind you, when I was into the 2600 I was too young to even care about anything other than Pole Position & PacMan. Not even the threat of nuclear attack at any moment from those pesky Russians could put me off my Atari gaming. Nice item....and boxed
I am a huge factory sealed game collector so I would say some of my rarest sealed games are: PAL Samba de Amigo boxset Radiant Silvergun Neo Turfmasters AES Chibi and Enemy zero game that I just won on Yahoo Japan, I am still really upset for overlooking the buy it now offer. Could I be more careless :banghead:
Problem is cellowrap degrades, it's all going to harden and flake off eventually. I suppose my pcengine and supergrafx dev hardware would be my rarest.
We bought the Romscanner in the mid 80's at our local CO-OP store and the Navarone was mail-order early 80's. As far as the cello wrap, you are spot on. I bought a rechargable battery for my Game Gear recently, NIB & shrinkwrapped, but the wrap had become stuck to the box and ripped off some of the artwork when it was opened.:dammit: I didn't get it to be collectible, I wanted another (and more portable) battery for my GG so my daughter could play it on road trips. Warms my heart that my 5 year old likes Sonic and wants to play the Game Gear.
Hmm, not a whole lot rare, but here it goes. Pictured are the Daytona USA SS directors chair promo and the Playstation Devil logo/mascot pin care of E-Bay and Japan Yahoo Auctions. Other rare/prized items: -Panorama Cotton MD w/Ocha cup -Kisado adapter (complete in package) -Macross: Eien no Love Song signed by Shoji Kawamori & Haruhiko Mikimoto -Macross: Scramble Valkyrie signed by Shoji Kawamori ^_^_^
The rarest things I own would be a copy of Rockman DASH (Japanese first edition), and a boxed Sega 32X.
I've started here at the wrong time, because I've just been through a mini-clearout selling off some of my more expensive LEs and systems - I can't justify keeping a factory sealed Street Fighter 3 jigsaw puzzle when I should be buying play mats and baby clothes instead. In any case, my "rares" are pretty standard stuff - Pal Panzer Dragoon Saga and the like. I do have quite a few PS2 LEs, but I find it hard to gauge the rarity of them because I never have any info about actual shipped amounts. Oh hang on I do have several SegaDirect DX packs for various games, and the Sangokushi Taisen 3 binder DX pack (bought it mainly for the OST). I also have a Sakura Taisen: Mysterious Paris watch. Like almost everything else she was bought to use, so the strap is a little worn these days.
The rarest thing i own is my Brown T-dev with her "BBA config disc" on NR disc and my complete beta release of npdp-gdev. And my sentimental rarest thing is a golf set (balls, tees, pocket knife, towel,... all with gamecube logo on it) win in a golf contest ^^
I have non-game related rare things, I guess. Guns and Roses T shirt from the stoned in LA shows New Kids on the Block T shirt from the Magic Summer tour 1990 National League champs Cinni Reds t shirt with Salem sportswear tag 1989 Converse Magic Johnson shoes, laker colors LA Kings satin jacket from the mid 80's I believe original pair of Air Jordan IV's Japanese version of Start Wars Episode 1 on LaserDisc Steve Miller Band's Fly like an Eagle on vinyl two SCPH 1001's Roland U-110 synth meh
Many moons ago I was given a prototype AY-3-8500 game chip from a friend who was one of the engineers at GI, it is the same as the production version except that the football game has 5 bats ! due to a logic error in the chip Thats the only rare gaming thing I have
The rarest things I have are: A "japanese?" version of the Nes Hand Free. I don't have the box. only 2 manuals: one in english and one in japanese, i supposed to be the translation. I never tried to use it. cause i'm afraid to break it. ;-) a complete set of Lasabirdie and a complete set of Samba de Amigo PAL and a modem for SFC.
