Hey guys, I want to go thru my collection and rip all of my games to be played on the Samsung 605b with custom firmware. Like 10 years ago when the FW came out you had to hotswap with a big dvd and rip using isobuster. Is there an easier way now? Again, I'm not talking about extracting folders and ftping them to my xbox. I want full raw dumps of my discs so I can archive them. Thanks

I'm assuming your wanting the 8GB images? Layer o (video layer) & layer 1 (data layer)

    http://forum.redump.org/topic/6073/xbox-1-360-dumping-instructions/

I have a kreon drive, I used to rip/test rip games, works fine & the MD5 match redumps. But found not much point in ripping 8GB images that are useless.

If you want I can upload my batch file for the above tool set, after you rip the ss.bin the batch does the rest automatically, including creating the dvd file with the layer break for ImgBurn.

Note: opinion time :) - there isn't much point in ripping layer 0 since it's mostly zero padding, you're better off just FTPing the content of the D drive to your PC & creating a XISO.
(Since none of the files are modified its a 1.1 dump of the game, padding isn't part of the game)

Thanks man, that would be great. I'll explain what I'm trying to accomplish and maybe you can tell me what to do. I still softmod xboxes a lot. I have an old copy of Mech Assault. I want to back it up so that if I lose my original copy, I can slap a hacked samsung 605b in a retail console, boot Mech Assault backup and install softmod.

I've been using this method but haven't gotten a successful boot.
Instructions for 0800 drives (thx Starshadow):
    - Grab Xbox Backup Creator 2.9.0.425
    - On the Options tab, check "Build Clean ISO".
    - On the Read tab, uncheck "Use Sector Mapper (Xbox One)".
    - Click the Start button on the Read tab.
    - A read error should occur shortly after starting the dump. This is normal. Check the box "Apply zero fill to all remaining sector errors." and click the "Zero-Fill Sector(s)" button.
    - When the dump is complete, make sure that the log window reports exactly 65536 unrecoverable sectors. These are the security sectors. If the number is higher, this means there were actual read errors and your dump is likely bad.

I'm not 100% sure but I think I need to flash samsung605b0800 to the drive to get the ss.bin. I think the one I get from XBC using my 360 0800 drive gives me a different ss.bin

Haven't a clue, I just stick a disc in & rip the ss.bin. But I flashed my drive to only dump games.
    (IDE SH-D162D)

The 360 one should dump XB1 games fine, if you have DL DVD try dumping & burning a disc to see if boots.

Also make sure you select your drive in the options tab of XBC & change Xbox 360 to Xbox One.

I've got that drive as well. Unfortunately nothing uses IDE anymore. I think I solved the problem but here is a thread detailing the difference between the ss.bin for original xbox and the ss.bin for the 360.

I just use a IDE to USB adaptor with the drive, as my motherboard doesn't have IDE ports :(

This seems like a lot of work when you could buy another copy for $5 off ebay.
