I like this... I like this a lot.

No you'll be fine. The PSTV and Vita are the same thing, one is just a made to be stationary.

I haven't heard of any bans for doing this since you still need the game card to even play the game, so Sony still profits (and lemme tell you, online with LAN is amazing)

The general consensus seems to be that logging out of PSN should suffice. Some say even that isn't necessary since Sony doesn't ban for modding...

Sony has banned on PS3 for CFW, I think they were super lax on the PSP and Vita. Although it does show you online using homebrew when you're online and booting up something like MolecularShell.

If you're on PS3 CFW with spoofer and playing pirated games you cans till play multiplayer online without being banned. You can also remove the spoofer and play normally as well with pirated games and still not be banned, though your chances are higher.

But for the vita i doubt you'll have any issues with it. A PSTV is a Vita but for a TV. You can go online with the PSTV and a whitelisted game and you will absolutely be able to play online.

I can load up Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed and play online with the PSTV with the whitelist and have no issue.

what is the point? Unless having no whitelist messes with updating?

The point is only Sony approved games can be played on the VTV so if we edit the whitelist to include all games then you can play whatever.

I know that :p but why do we need to re-enable it?
Or did I skim read this wrong and this tutorial is to re-edit the new whitelist to enable all games hahahahahhaha

Yes this lets you replace the regular one with a modified one that enables everything.
I would suggest just using this little homebrew here that does it for you nice and easy tho http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=116&t=46154

I have just received my PS Vita TV and was starting looking over Internet for a Whitelist hack and then I have found your thread PixelButts. In the right place at the right moment :)

    Thanks a lot !

Anyway, I am also wondering if accessing the PSN is still possible when using this hack, as asked by MonkeyBoyJoey.

Also, I have finished Gravity Rush (Gravity Daze) few monthes ago on my PSVita and I am planning to play it again on my PSVita TV. I just can't remember if the touch screen was useful to play the game. I know that slides can be made using the touch screen, but I can't remember what were the other features using the touch screen. Does anyone have tried the game ?

A last possibly off topic question. Is Borderland still freezing on PSVita TV? I have never finished it because of the freezes that happens every half hour....

I played a couple online matches of Senran Kagura Estival Versus and Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed. It won't be an issue to play online.

As for Gravity Rush (or Gravity Daze in the EU?), The touchscreen in front can be remedied with a PS4 controller as it does use the touchscreen there in some games. You can also use the touch features using a PS3 controller but it gets a bit difficult.

I don't know how far you can get since the game used the gyroscope in the vita to progress but if the PS3 or PS4 controller lets you use that feature then you should be fine. This is one of the handful of games that I'm sure were blacklisted with a good reason.

Gravity Rush in the EU :)

Thanks for your answer. Will buy a PS4 controller then, even if I am not sure that the game can be finished using a such controller.

Before you buy anything let me actually test it since I can do that right now.

Yep so far all works. I did find using menus with the touch screen may be needed. PS3 controllers can do this too but it gets confusing once back touch controls get involved.

But essentially you can play the whole game with the PS4 controller (and PS3 but it may be more annoying)

Interestingly, Sony have sent me a reminder of the terms and conditions of my PSN account - just a few days after trying the whitelist to enable me to play games I've bought from them on a device that was supposed to be compatible with those games...
    I'm sure it's just a coincidence

Afaict that's not a "reminder" - they expanded their TOS to also cover hacking, reverse engineering and such.

The update on the ToS is in the EU only right now.
US and JP (and wherever else that is not EU) have not changed

Well they are ALOT alike but not the same. This is why PS1 bubbles do not work on the PSTV and HENkaku was almost not ready for the PSTV upon launch due to the slight differences in how the system handles the app.db. If you look at older Vita firmwares that predate Vita TV/PSTV you can see there are added differences in the firmware.

I thought that was a firmware thing, making this work only on lower versions. You say they still work on 3.60 but only on a Vita?
Goddamnit PSTV, I bought you for one job...
