I am sure some of you have seen the recent slowdown in this area.

The pressures of concurrently running my company, dealing with recent
monthly warehouse rent increases, volunteering to run a large charity
event, running + dieting in a calorie deficit exercise program, and living on
four hours of sleep a night have resulted in me developing a stress related
    heart arrhythmia condition.

To be honest I thought I was a goner.

There I was, in the middle of the night with as freight train in my chest.
The last time I went to the emergency room, it cost $12,000. I decided to
go to a normal doctor the next morning instead.

It's really shitty to be shopping for a cardiologist with the best price
while you're doubled over in pain, but that is what I had to do.

The US has a terrible health system and stupidly expensive health
insurance. Combined with the unlimited ability to sue your doctor, this results in
$150,000 a year doctor's insurance. For $30 in tests totalling 15 minutes, he
    charged me $681.

I've been told to rest without doing anything for a 2-6 weeks.

The site is on cruise control for a while, perhaps
as long as two months depending on my test results.

This freaking sucks, not necessarily for the site (although it DOES suck to see a good thing like this community have to be put on hold), but for your sudden health conditions in addition to the assrapery that is the U.S. health system. It won't be easy for you, but you'll pull through as you always have. Take it easy and recover as you say. We'll be behind you and waiting for however long is necessary.

Yep. Health comes first! Good recovery Kev! :)
I remember having the same some time ago : get up to _al least_ 6 hours sleep per day. No coffeine. No alcoholics. Very much time for sports. Youll see you wont regret it. It worked just fine for me ;)

Yes, it would be best to drop everything that isn't neccesary, until you are recovered..rationalise your time.

Adding my sympathy and best wishes as well. I ended up having to make some drastic life changes to keep my health in order (no sugar, no caffeine, more sleep) but I've been back from that same brink. We're happy to wait on you.

i am sure people here won't mind the site being on cruise control because its your health that matters first and foremost not that the site matters any less but your health should be your main priority

Take care Kev and rest as long as you can
$12,000 for one trip to the emergency room...
Is the US health system & insurance as bad as depicted in Michael Moore's Sicko?
That the scariest movie I've ever seen...

Hey I'm really sorry for you Kev ...

But it's true that the US got a hella bad hospital system ...

Here in Québec, everybody(who's a Quebec citizen) got free Medical insurance (RAMQ : Régime d'Assurance Maladie du Québec) This mean that almost everything, from pills to normal cancer traitment (not experimental things) are paid by the gouvernement, for everybody, and emergency treats are free too. The only downside I see about this, is that there's persons wich got not that big problems that always stick at hospitals (hypocondriaques), making some big town's hospital full at 150%, but for lil' towns there's no problems ...

If you get in Qc you could contact me for a faked RAMQ card ...:thumbsup:

I hope you'll get back in shape fast !

Take it easy man, life is more important than anything else...1 second or a lifetime, don't matter how long it takes - just do what you gotta do to survive.

Good Luck and warm wishes to u...Moderation is the best medicine, no doubt.

Sorry to hear that, I hope you get well soon, just take it easy!

FYI the health system here is almost as bad, you are supposed to get medical treatment paid by your taxes but it just doesnt work, if you were someone needing urgent heart surgery you would be put in a 2 to 4 year waiting list (and probably die while waiting)
I really love my country xD
